About La Emperatriz de los Etereos

‘Does the Ethereal Realm really exist? Is there something beyond the comfortable safety of the Caves?’

Author: Laura Gallego

Original Title: La Emperatriz de los Etéreos

Book Translations

Hello, dearies!

I was going through my list of books I have read and found I haven’t told you about this one here in the blog. The Empress of the Ethereal is a Spanish book by my fav Spanish author, in fact, I think is the only Spanish author that I like, I love her books, specially The Idhún Chronicles, as you might know since I have multiple entries about it.

HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban

HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The one where everything started to make sense to me, and it got my attention to the point of moving me forward with the books, the story, everything about it.

Author: JK Rowling

Genre: Fantasy, YA, Adventure, Classics

Book 3 in the Harry Potter Saga

“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”

The one where everything started to make sense to me, and it got my attention to the point of moving me forward with the books, the story, everything about it. Mostly, thankful to Alfonso Cuarón for making it such a fun experience and making me watch the movie endless times, at this point in my life, I have lost count of how many times I have watched it. I had it on a VHS tape (suddenly felt old), anyway, I had it and re-watched it on my own many times, it made my teenage days better.

But, as always, this is about the book, not the movie. It goes without saying, that there are Spoilers for those that have not watched the movies, read the books, or watched the movies and didn’t read the books, or vice versa, you’ve been warned. 📖👈

Confessions of a Shopaholic [Book Review]

“Life would be a lot easier if conversations were rewindable and erasable, like videos. Or if you could instruct people to disregard what you just said, like in a courtroom.”

Author: Sophie Kinsella

⭐⭐⭐

Genre: Women’s Fiction, Chick Lit, Humor, Romance

That was not what I was expecting one bit. This is what happens when you read a book after you have watched the movie so many times that you almost now the dialogues of it.

But this does not mean I didn’t enjoy Confessions of a Shopaholic. I quite liked this book if not loved it. It made me laugh and seeing how Rebecca Bloomwood made excuses after excuses to buy anything was unbelievable. I suppose that is really how a shopaholic would be.

Some spoilers might be ahead, be wary.

A Lion’s Pride – First Three

I finished these three in a few days because they’re quite the quick read, oh yes, I just jumped in this time, don’t worry there are no spoilers on this. Anyway, A Lion’s Pride the Series by Eve Langlais are a fun read like most of Eve’s books, I have read tons by her, even though I don’t have the reviews here on the blog, they get me out of book-slumps, book-hangovers, and the sort, they made me get going and jump into other series.

Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance

Hello, dearies! How is December going? Mine is a bit cold and expecting it to be colder as the 24th approaches.

This one will be short as the previous, sorry if I have been a little absent from social media and given quick reviews but work has been full-time, and sleep not so constant, yet, here we are again with another set of books.

A Rose in Winter

The great thing about Shana Abe’s books, is that in the end, you end up liking them, in some way or another.

Author: Shana Abe

Genres: Historical, Romance, European Literature, Fiction, Adult

The great thing about Shana Abe’s books, is that in the end, you end up liking them, in some way or another. Of course, nothing compares to The Drakon Series, which I still believe to be greatest ones I’ve read by her, next to The Sweetest Dark books, but A Rose in Winter had me from ugh to ooh to aww to wow, I did not give it 5 stars because there was not that total awesome and abandonment into it that had drawn me to other books, but I enjoyed it enough, and if you brave it out through the middle of it, then you’re good at the end, it was a nice ending and there a plot twist here and there that I didn’t expect.

Oh, the main character’s name is Damon, so, of course, I had to go on reading until I knew how it all ended.

This one is quite short since I just thought to share with you guys this rather quick read I had, I mean according to my ebook reader, it took me about 9 hours to finish the book, and that divided in several days, which mean I could have finished the book in a day if I had had the time to do as much. That’s it for now. I hope you found a new book to read. You can read the description here.

Idhun’s Memories 3: Panteón

I finished this one a second time (maybe third), and I can still recommend it, I loved it again.

Trilogy: The Idhun Chronicles (Memorias de Idhún)

Pantheon – Book #3

Author: Laura Gallego

🌟⭐🌠🌠🌟

I’m doing this one on Pantheon because it felt in some parts like I was reading it for the first time.

And I completely blocked out 2 facts in this book, or so it seems. It was so real to me that A died, at first I was perplexed that that fact had been out of my mind for so long.

So, let’s do this once more, and I apologise beforehand because I know these books are in Spanish, and some of you might not be able to read them yet, still, I wanted to share.

HP and The Chamber of Secrets

Continuing our journey through the magical world of Harry Potter, now, one of my favs, The Chamber of Secrets, not my all-time favourite but pretty close. For part one of this, you can read my ramblings on HP and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The Chamber of Secrets is one of the books I appreciate being a second good book, not many manage that, sometimes the second statements are either boring or slow or plain crazy, and other times like with Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles 2) or The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings), you, just get a winner or Where She Went, none of these books has absolutely anything to do with each other, but they are all seconds and good ones, The Subtle Knife too from His Dark Materials. To the point, I know.

Stars Above – 1.5 and 3.1

The Queen’s Army and Carswell Guide to Being Lucky. Two stories that moved me in different ways.

Series: The Lunar Chronicles

Author: Marissa Meyer

This one will be short and sweet, just wanted to showcase these 2 stories in the Stars Above compilation.

This may contain spoilers for those who had not read any of The Lunar Chronicles books. Beware.

The Queen’s Army (The Lunar Chronicles #1.5)

While I love these books, there is also something very savage about the Lunar stories. Worst of them all is seeing what children in Luna go through, like with this one and what Ze’ev had to face.

The Lunar Chronicles 4: Winter ❄️

It doesn’t usually happen that I find a book to have me gaping, almost screaming, nearly crying, laughing, insulting the characters, but the best ones do, or at least does that make you go in and be part of the story for real, feel all that they are feeling, intense, magical, heartwarming, all those little things we feel while reading Winter.

Series: The Lunar Chronicles

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Author: Marissa Meyer

Genre: Sci-fi, fantasy, romance (sort of), YA, Dystopia, Retellings

I think this is going to take a little while to come together.

After all the scary moments, all the times I said, this is it, this is where she kills them, her, him, one of them is going to be left alone and wandering without love, then another of my fav would come into the scene and there I was again thinking the same, what a rollercoaster.

The Lunar Chronicles 3: Cress

It doesn’t usually happen, but Marissa sometimes manages to shock me and made me scream and curse at the pages of books, and I had some of those moments with Cress. And the last page took me by surprise, I was so engrossed in it, that I turned and when I saw the Acknowledgements page my jaw fell. I knew I would finish this book way too quickly
