Flashback: The 5th Wave

“You can only call someone crazy if there’s someone else who’s normal. Like good and evil. If everything was good, then nothing would be good.”

Hello, dearies! 📙

This is not a book review.

Here we are again, another week, another throwback or flashback as it is, a Friday Flashback. Last week, I started this little section with a review (sort of) for The Bane Chronicles: Saving Raphael Santiago, which marked the first look into the past, and it was a TBT.

Now, this week I decided to go with a book that I loved in the past, and on the second round of reading it, The 5th Wave. I have a review already for this back, and it was done a long time ago, you can check it out here: The 5th Wave review.

This time around, I wanted to talk about some of the characters and the story. Let’s begin. 📚

Behind the Reader

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies,” said Jojen. “The man who never reads lives only one.”

Hey, dearies! How are you today?

So, I remembered, realised, noticed, however you want to call it, that I don’t have much on me on the blog, though how obsessed I am with some books, characters and authors is also a statement.

But today, I’m doing a bit of fast facts on me since I’m not only a reader but also a writer, a photography aficionado, a traveller, a sister, an aunt, a friend and many other things. But I’ll keep it short, as you know I do, sometimes.

Behind the Reader

Fast facts about me. I’ll number them.

  1. I’m a self-published author.
  2. I have a degree in Telecommunications Engineering.
  3. I don’t use my degree. I prefer to do other things that have little to do with telecommunications.
  4. I started writing when I was about fourteen? Before that, I kept journals of my daily life.
  5. One of the first books I read and loved and wanted more of was The Chamber of Secrets.
  6. I write better than I speak.
  7. I have an ISFP personality. I don’t think that’s much of a shock, but for those who don’t know, it stands for Introverted, Observant, Feeling, and Prospecting personality traits.
  8. I manage all my social media accounts.
  9. I create all of my content, and I design the covers of my own books.

And that’s it. I just thought I should share a bit more since I feel like, at times, people don’t realise there is an actual person behind all of this. 🙂 Thank you for reading. And if you’re on any social media, find me as each.page or sela.ordaz.author or amanda_littrell_author.

Happy Easter Week! 🐰

Didn’t Finish, Did Finish Book Challenge

“She was spirit and presence, as rare and brilliant as snowflakes in sunlight, and he could not bring himself to harm her.”
The Smoke Thief

Hello, dearies! I hope your day/night is going well.

This book challenge was originally, did not finish do not care, but as that is a little too much for me, on the negative side. I decided to give it my own spin and share three books that I didn’t finish and did finish, and why.

Enjoy! 📲

Hush Hush Book 1-3 Revamped Review

‘“Since we’re keeping it primal, you smell good,” he observed. He moved closer, making me acutely aware of his size, the rise and fall of his chest, the warm burn of his skin on mine. Electricity tingled along my scalp, and I shuddered with pleasure.’

Books: Hush Hush, Crescendo, Silence

Author: Becca Fitzpatrick

Genre: YA, Fantasy, Romance, Supernatural, Angels, Urban Fantasy

Hi, dearies! This one is different from the last one because my perspective has broadened.

Years ago, I read this cool book by Becca Fitzpatrick and then went on to the whole Saga and loved it. That book was Hush Hush. 😄📖

HP and the Order of the Phoenix

“You do care,” said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. “You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.”

Series: Harry Potter

Book #5: The Order of the Phoenix

Author: JK Rowling

Genre: YA, fantasy, magic, drama

And we have arrived at our 5th Year at Hogwarts School of Magic and Wizardry. 🦉

Hello, dearies! I hope your day, night, midnight or early morning is going well and you are staying healthy and safe.

For this one, I cannot be certain how it will go since it was one of my favourites, the book and the movie, even though there’re tons of differences, I love to rewatch The Order of The Phoenix.

Let us begin at once. No time like the present. 📽️📘

Alice Cullen

“No one dressed by me ever looks like an idiot.”

First Appearance: Twilight

Last Appearance: Breaking Dawn

Hello, dearies! Happy Halloween 2021! 🎃🧛

I thought to stop by with a quick appreciation for a character that pretty much makes the whole Twilight series better. Alice Cullen, yes! That’s about all I need to say. LOL. Not really, I’m just going to fangirl for a little a bit and then we can move on.

Spoiler Alert, if you are not familiar with Twilight or the other books in the saga.

2011 Reads

Hey there, dearies!

Last time I did this was for 2009, and that brought memories, this time will be different since I don’t recall what I was reading in 2011 but I can take a guess. Why don’t I recall? Because I was probably still reading other books from previous years or doing some re-reading, or probably reading something from the 1800’s.

But there were some books that came out in 2011 and we might feel a little old while remembering what they were because it’s been 10 years since that time. Yes, this is 2021 so 10 years! I know!

Let’s get this party started, I’ll also tell you, which ones I did read.

First Reads during the New Year 📚

🎉🎈Happy 2021 🎉🎈

Hello, dearies! I hope your New Year’s holiday was full of light and safety. It seems that’s what we’re wishing these days, but that’s life during pandemics.

Did you read a lot? I started reading (again… *cough* again a second time) The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon, aka Outlander 5 and I want to finish this want, but it’s long, and I haven’t had the focus to really enjoyed, I started in December but didn’t continue because there were too many distractions, family and work and you know the drill, the mundane who would not let you sit down and enjoy the book. So, I started a secondary book that ought to be shorter and quicker, and well, I’m still reading it, though I’d had a few good laughs, it’s completely different from TFC, I don’t know if you watched the movie (I have, a couple of times) but I’m reading Confessions of a Shopaholic, and it’s quite funny to see how Rebbeca finds excuses in the oddest most absurd ways to buy something, which I suppose is the point but in the book is so much in your face then it’s in the movie, but I am not reviewing right now, I was telling a story of what I’m reading, and those are the two on my phone. As for paperbacks, I have The Red Scrolls of Magic, Magnus and Alec from the Shadowhunters world, which I really, really want to read but I also want to concentrate on it. And I have a hardcover, The Brightest Night, this one, I’m more afraid than anything else to read because I feel like I’m going to be absorbed completely, and also I may cry and laugh in equal amounts.

But those are the ones I have at the top of the TBR, I’m leaving the list of these 4 next, in case you want to add them to your own list.

Books on the List

Thank you for reading everyone, though this was more of a confessional time, I appreciate that you made to the end, and if you ever want some advice on books or want to read some reviews, you know you can subscribe, right? Here, on the right, there you go, there are the buttons you need, and you can also check out my social media for more, including snippets of chapters and alternative covers or quotes from my favourite books. That’s truly it, have a nice night or day, and happy reading! 🙂

A Lion’s Pride – First Three

I finished these three in a few days because they’re quite the quick read, oh yes, I just jumped in this time, don’t worry there are no spoilers on this. Anyway, A Lion’s Pride the Series by Eve Langlais are a fun read like most of Eve’s books, I have read tons by her, even though I don’t have the reviews here on the blog, they get me out of book-slumps, book-hangovers, and the sort, they made me get going and jump into other series.

Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance

Hello, dearies! How is December going? Mine is a bit cold and expecting it to be colder as the 24th approaches.

This one will be short as the previous, sorry if I have been a little absent from social media and given quick reviews but work has been full-time, and sleep not so constant, yet, here we are again with another set of books.

2019: This is What I Plan to Read

Another year came to an end, and a new year is about to make us its slave. Wow, that was deep, I know.

This new year will bring many new books, but I already have a small (*cough cough*) list of books that I want to read and I am yet to grab and sit and read without interruptions. I was supposed to start QOAAD before the year was over but that did not happen, my mundane job did not let me do it, still it is my first choice in 2019. And since I am done with The Darkest Star, which was my favourite read of the year, then I am free as a bird to obsesses over other fictional characters that will surely cause me to scream at the book. This is what I have planned.
