The Duke and I

The Duke and I, the book that made it impossible for me to read anything else for a month and the one who I could have finished in two days.

⭐⭐⭐

Author: Julia Quinn

Bridgertons Series Book 1

Genre: Romance, Historical Romance, Regency, Adult (sort of)

Guess what? This rarely happens to me but it took me over a month to read The Duke and I, shocking! I know. 📖😵

And I finish half the book and a night and a morning, with some hours of sleep in between and also like an hour of work thrown in there. I mean, it’s outrageous to believe that for the whole of February, I didn’t feel the need to pick up the book and when I did I often put it down after a few pages because I would drift very often and not know what I was reading, the words would not compute.

I’m sorry for this author, JQ, but maybe it’s something in her narrative, and I’m sorry for all the fans out there but it’s the truth. Alright, alright. I will begin to talk a bit more about the plot and story and will also compare it with the Netflix show, I watched it before reading this. So… possible spoilers ahead.👀

Couples to Idealise 💞

Valentine’s Day is coming up, so let’s talk about all those couples that we (Me) love and could idealise from books, and boy, do I have a bunch, I will try to keep it short.

That day when people starts sending hearts and flowers, and gifts chocolates is coming up, what is it called again? Oh, yeah! Valentine’s Day, so let’s talk about all those couples that we (Me) love and could idealise from books, and boy, do I have a bunch, I will try to keep it short.

If you ever read any of the books I’m about to mention and know these couples then you are in for a treat and would love to have a relationship like these, though most did not start out good, they end up with a happy tone, so you might find some spoilers. Warning set.

A Lion’s Pride – First Three

I finished these three in a few days because they’re quite the quick read, oh yes, I just jumped in this time, don’t worry there are no spoilers on this. Anyway, A Lion’s Pride the Series by Eve Langlais are a fun read like most of Eve’s books, I have read tons by her, even though I don’t have the reviews here on the blog, they get me out of book-slumps, book-hangovers, and the sort, they made me get going and jump into other series.

Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance

Hello, dearies! How is December going? Mine is a bit cold and expecting it to be colder as the 24th approaches.

This one will be short as the previous, sorry if I have been a little absent from social media and given quick reviews but work has been full-time, and sleep not so constant, yet, here we are again with another set of books.

A Rose in Winter

The great thing about Shana Abe’s books, is that in the end, you end up liking them, in some way or another.

Author: Shana Abe

Genres: Historical, Romance, European Literature, Fiction, Adult

The great thing about Shana Abe’s books, is that in the end, you end up liking them, in some way or another. Of course, nothing compares to The Drakon Series, which I still believe to be greatest ones I’ve read by her, next to The Sweetest Dark books, but A Rose in Winter had me from ugh to ooh to aww to wow, I did not give it 5 stars because there was not that total awesome and abandonment into it that had drawn me to other books, but I enjoyed it enough, and if you brave it out through the middle of it, then you’re good at the end, it was a nice ending and there a plot twist here and there that I didn’t expect.

Oh, the main character’s name is Damon, so, of course, I had to go on reading until I knew how it all ended.

This one is quite short since I just thought to share with you guys this rather quick read I had, I mean according to my ebook reader, it took me about 9 hours to finish the book, and that divided in several days, which mean I could have finished the book in a day if I had had the time to do as much. That’s it for now. I hope you found a new book to read. You can read the description here.

The Lunar Chronicles 4: Winter ❄️

It doesn’t usually happen that I find a book to have me gaping, almost screaming, nearly crying, laughing, insulting the characters, but the best ones do, or at least does that make you go in and be part of the story for real, feel all that they are feeling, intense, magical, heartwarming, all those little things we feel while reading Winter.

Series: The Lunar Chronicles

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Author: Marissa Meyer

Genre: Sci-fi, fantasy, romance (sort of), YA, Dystopia, Retellings

I think this is going to take a little while to come together.

After all the scary moments, all the times I said, this is it, this is where she kills them, her, him, one of them is going to be left alone and wandering without love, then another of my fav would come into the scene and there I was again thinking the same, what a rollercoaster.

The Lunar Chronicles 3: Cress

It doesn’t usually happen, but Marissa sometimes manages to shock me and made me scream and curse at the pages of books, and I had some of those moments with Cress. And the last page took me by surprise, I was so engrossed in it, that I turned and when I saw the Acwnologements page my jaw fell. I knew I would finish this book way too quickly

Midnight Sun

Twilight and Midnight Sun are pretty much the same but Ed and Bells have a way of getting on your nerves separately. Cool book.

Series: Twilight

Author: Stephenie Meyer

Get the book: Midnight Sun – Ebook or Hardcover

Let’s get this PoV started… I was so excited and I read with excitement up until some points at the end that had the capacity to slow my reading progress but at the same time I wanted to finish because I like the story as a whole, these books and movies were a big part of my life in the past and so I wanted to continue and see what Edward thought for sure, I didn’t expect him to be so mopey at times.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: Learn About Loss

A short review but to the point. Another good story.

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Authors: Cassandra Clare & Kelly Link

This one is also super short, but it was a really good story too.

I don’t think there was one that I didn’t like in this compilation.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: The Land I Lost

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Series: Shadowhunters. Shadow World

Authors: Cassandra ClareSarah Rees Brennan

Is going to be short, but I wanted to relay just how amazingly good it was, that even after reading all the Shadow World books there is still room for the little stories, and we will still love them all as if they were part of a series.
