Horimiya

‘Kyoko Hori is a bright and popular high school student, in contrast to her classmate Izumi Miyamura, a gloomy and seemingly nerdy boy.’

ホリミヤ

by Hero, Daisuke Hagiwara (Artist)

A lovely one.

One of the first reviews I start with a one-liner I know already. 😄

Hello, dearies! 💖

Horimiya is one of those that I first watched the anime then read the manga, but it’s alright, you can do it like that as well, there’s not much difference in the story, except for the ending of the Manga, that’s a plus for us readers.

I’ll jump right in.

The Promise of Rain

‘They call him the Hound of Hell….’

Author: Shana Abe

Genre: Historical Romance, Enemy-to-Lover, Medieval Romance, Adult (sort of)

Happy Weekend, dearies! I hope you’re enjoying a great one.

Today I finished The Promise of Rain, and said, wow, the difference between reading an enjoyable book and when I don’t. Why? Because I read this one so fast, I couldn’t get enough of it, I had to finish it and know all their secrets. Unlike when I read The King’s Obsession, which I started last year and finished not long ago.

Manga Characters Guaranteed to Deliver a Heartthrob

Who is your favourite male character in a Manga? Check out some of mine. 💓

Hello, dearies!

With Valentine’s day coming closer, I decided to do a special on characters, but not any male characters but the ones from Manga because they made your heartthrob the most. At least in this particular case, with these specific characters. 💓

Now, I say it’s from any genre, but the common denominator is some kind of romance.

As of the next lines, pardon my fangirling all over the place. Let’s begin!

February Recommended List for Heartbreaks and Swoons

“Once you dissolve dye in water, you can’t take it back out. It’s like that. I can’t take you out of me. It means cutting out my heart, and I don’t like myself without my heart, I know that now.”
Queen of Air and Darkness

Hello, dearies! Is February, can you believe it?

I can. I think that January passed by slowly and at the same time not. Perhaps that means this year will be kinder to us than the past two.

Last time I went with the couples we idealise, but this February 2022, I decided to share some of the books that have broken my heart and some that had made me swoon because there is always those with the HEA and those that leave you crying on the floor. And there are some which have both of these features, they break you and patch you up again in the same book, a rollercoaster because, why not?

Let’s get started. 😊

Hello, dearies! How is January ending?

I managed to post more than I expected this month, so I’m happy.

I recently finished Hotel Del Luna, and I had my suspicion that I would like it but I really enjoyed it, and it was so much fun to watch with my mom, she joined me mid-story but caught on quickly, and was into the story. Is something else when the elderly love K-Dramas as much as you do, you know they’re good. 😀

Voyeur Series

“Complicated, shmomplicated,” she said, waving her hand. ”If you love her, you make it work.”

Genre: Adult fiction. Romance. New Adult.

Where to start? I suppose from how I got here? Oh well, I first read the description for the sixth book in the series, Teacher, and was intrigued as hell, then I saw it was a whole series, and of course, I couldn’t read the last one first, so it began my journey.

The Voyeur Series has 6 books and a short story that you can read for free here.

Beautiful Disaster

“It wasn’t just me, and it wasn’t just him, it was what we were together that was the exception.”
Many little quotes like this make it a great read.

Author: Jamie McGuire

Genre: Romance, New Adult, Contemporary, Fiction, YA

I cannot believe I don’t have a post for this one. And honestly, all that I remember is that I loved at the time, despite being kind of a regular one, a romance, yes, but no fantasy in there. Yet, it hooked me for a time. 💞

Now, there is a movie in the making, and for some reason, I am excited about it. I am not feeling the actors that much, but I want to watch. Filming ends this week, and Jamie has been giving us regular news on it, and it’s making me want to read the book again. There are two sides of Beautiful Disaster, from Abby’s point of view and from Travis’, and the one from Travis freaking Maddox was too much excitement. I mean, he is on my list of favourite male characters in books, so there I admit that bad boys do hold their appeal.
