Fruits Basket – Manga Review… sort of

The anime sent me on this path… and it was worth it. 😍

Title: Fruits Basket

(フルーツバスケット, Furūtsu Basuketto) also abbreviated as Furuba or Fruba (フルバ)

Author: Natsuki Takaya

Genres: Fantasy, romantic comedy, slice of life

Original date: July 1998 – November 2006

In 2015, it began the Fruits Basket: Collector’s Edition (愛蔵版 フルーツバスケット) where 2 volumes were compiled into one. Same story. But there are now 12 volumes.

Hello, dearies! 🎆🎐

Welcome to a new rambling about a Manga. I finished Fruits Basket this month, and found it quite interesting.

What shocked me the most about reading and finishing the Manga was that I knew where it was going because I’d watched the anime (2019 version), but I was still into it, it didn’t feel like a repeat, but at the same, it was a sort of comfort read, I don’t know if you know what I mean, but it was nice. And I liked it of course.

What about Love Again?

I recently hit play on Love Again on HBO, and this is what happened…

Hello, dearies! 🎥

I recently watched Love Again with Sam Heugham 💕 oh, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Celine Dion.

I wasn’t going to mention it here, but sometimes you have to, because to be honest it wasn’t like the greatest love story ever, and half the time the story of her got a little on my nerves, though not as much as clearly seeing where the story was going and how it’ll end, maybe it was my Rom-Com filled brain 🤣 but truly, I knew even before they did that she would end up texting him. 📱

The Lost Book of the White

Hello, dearies! 🧭

Prepare for some fangirling of epic proportions.

And maybe a bit of rambling too.

The Lost Book of The White takes us forward in time or further (way further) than The Red Scrolls of Magic, which I recommend you first read City of Bones before diving into that one, although it is not necessary.

So, I loved book 2 of The Eldest Curses, does that come across? Sometimes I don’t know if it really does. But I did, and it took me a while to write this one because… life, so my memories are a bit far away.

I decided to continue the ball rolling with the listings and recommend some awesome romance books that deserve more recognition. If you are feeling a bit on the fence about reading romance, then you might start your journey with these authors, it’s where I started and they didn’t disappoint.

Horimiya

ホリミヤ
(Horimiya)
by Hero, Daisuke Hagiwara (Artist)

Genres: Romance. Young Adult. School Life. Slice of Life.

A lovely one.

One of the first reviews I start with a one-liner I know already. 😄

Hello, dearies! 💖

Horimiya (Hori to Miyamura) is one of those that I first watched the anime then read the manga, but it’s alright, you can do it like that as well, there’s not much difference in the story, except for the ending of the Manga, that’s a plus for us readers.

I’ll jump right in.

Hello, dearies!

It took me some time to write this one, but here I am. As promised.

I will give you the randomness of my thoughts as they came when I was reading Finale, so bear with me for a bit. You might enjoy the quotes and snippets from the book.

Fair warning, this post is full of spoilers if you haven’t read any of the books in the Hush Hush Saga, including this one, book 4, Finale.

The Promise of Rain

‘They call him the Hound of Hell….’

Author: Shana Abe

Genre: Historical Romance, Enemy-to-Lover, Medieval Romance, Adult (sort of)

Happy Weekend, dearies! I hope you’re enjoying a great one.

Today I finished The Promise of Rain, and said, wow, the difference between reading an enjoyable book and when I don’t. Why? Because I read this one so fast, I couldn’t get enough of it, I had to finish it and know all their secrets. Unlike when I read The King’s Obsession, which I started last year and finished not long ago.

Manga Characters Guaranteed to Deliver a Heartthrob

Who is your favourite male character in a Manga? Check out some of mine. 💓

Hello, dearies!

With Valentine’s day coming closer, I decided to do a special on characters, but not any male characters but the ones from Manga because they made your heartthrob the most. At least in this particular case, with these specific characters. 💓

Now, I say it’s from any genre, but the common denominator is some kind of romance.

As of the next lines, pardon my fangirling all over the place. Let’s begin!
