TBT: The Dream Thief

It is a tale of dragons and magic, in a country faraway from mine, and yet, I feel like I could fall into this world all over again each time I read The Dream Thief.

Hello, dearies! It is time for a new appreciation and a look back into a book that I thought I had liked from the start, but when reading the original review, I found out I had not. But after the second read, I loved it.

The Dream Thief, is book 2 in the Drakon Series by Shana Abé (one of my fav authors). And the strange thing is that I really thought I had liked it the first time as well, but it seems I found Lia annoying and the whole thing as too much explaining.

Now? And after rethinking it, and actually just enjoying the book perhaps because I knew where it was leading up to, it was a different experience.

And it is a favourite fantasy romance and historical novel. The age gap did not bother me then, nor did it did the second time, even if from all the books I have read it is one of the biggest gaps I have seen, still works.

If you read the story, focus on the characters on what drives Lia to try and change her fate (she hears the future) then you are in it, and convinced by her logic, not 100% but I get her.

This really turned into appreciation and me saying what I like.

But truth is, the full review, the first, is here: The Dream Thief first review, and the second a bit more into it is on the podcast is below, that one is the one that should consider the most as the book changed my mind the second time.

Have you read this book? Or any of the Drakon Series novels?

They are awesome for those of us who like historical romance plus shapeshifters.
