Hello, dearies! Another Sunday, another potential day for spoilers!
Before anything, this is my 400th post! I thought it would be fitting to do it with a tribute to a story I love. ❤️
I don’t like spoilers as you know, but I felt that I could answer some odd questions about Cheeky Brat for you, in case you are curious to know more about this manga that is one of my top 5 favourite manga.
Are you ready? Again, there are spoilers as that is the theme of the day.
Is Cheeky Brat a Romance?
Yes. The Romance. The one that you want. The one that makes you sigh. The manga that is so romantic in ways you didn’t know you needed.
Like, Naruse is so freaking clingy but not cringy is amazing, at least from my POV.
What age rating is Cheeky Brat?
Ohhh, it starts on the less spicy side. And then we grow up.
But being serious, what age rating is the manga Cheeky Brat? It is 16 years and up.
If you ask me, 17 or 18 years old and up. And I will tell you in a photo why, while not giving away the whole plot.
Is Cheeky Brat still on going?
Sadly, no. It ended with volume 23.
And the story ran from November 2013 to December 2021.
To clarify, Namaikizakari (Cheeky Brat) was serialised in the magazine Hana to Yume from late 2013 to December 2021, with the final compiled volume (Vol. 23) released in March 2022.
Is Namaikizakari based on a Manga?
Yes, the manga titled Namaikizakari is based on a manga.
Lol. Sorry couldn’t help myself. So, this is not an anime, manwha or light novel. It is a Romance, Sports, Shōjo manga by Mitsubachi Miyuki-sensei.
What is Cheeky Brat called in Japanese?
Original name: なまいきざかり. Which literally translates to Full Bloom Cheekiness.
What is the Summary of Cheeky Brat?
Okay, I will try to make it short and to the point. But Spoilers heavy.
Nanamaikizari (Cheeky Brat) is a shojo manga about a girl named Machida Yuki, who is a manager of her High School Basketball team after she applied for the position only because she liked one of the guys there, she then stayed as Manager because she is responsible and liked it. There she meets Naruse Shou, another Basketball player and her kohai (junior classmate). Naruse after spending time in the club and interacting with Yuki constantly starts to develop feelings for her, obliviously. She rejects him for months until the attraction cannot be denied no longer. When she goes to college then, the real story begins to grow and unfold, we go into a journey of discovery, maturity, and seeing these two fight for their relationship despite distance, age, differences and life.
Wow. I never thought I would have such a clear view of a story, but there it is. It’s amazing and you might have discovered why I like this manga so much. 🙂
Okay one more question and I’m done for the day.
Do they get Together in Cheeky Brat?
Eh, yes? I am going to guess that if you read the first few chapters only, this question makes sense. So yes, dearies, they do get together later on in the manga.
And that’s all for today’s spoiler Sunday, I hope some or all of your questions about this manga were answered. For the full review and fangirling you can listen here.
Let me know if you have read and are waiting like me for the anime, fingers crossed, or are content with rereading it? I read an occasional volume or chapter now and then, I only have the first 5 volumes in paperback, which I got from Amazon at last, it was not available when I first started reading it.
Also, don’t forget to follow here and Patreon, I have freebies waiting for you. 😊
That’s it, thank you, dearies! See you on the next one!
