Flashback: Onyx

“His lips tipped up one side and he leaned toward me, his mouth inches from mine. “Come and get it.”

Hello, dearies!

Today’s Flashback is more an I Wish I could Read this Book as if it Were the First Time.

So, Onyx. Do you know the Lux Series? This is book 2 in the series, I have talked a bit about them in the past, back when I first read them and loved them so much.

Series: Harry Potter

Book #6The Half-Blood Prince

Author: JK Rowling

Genre: YA, fantasy, magic, drama

I’ve been waiting to talk about this one.

Hello, dearies! ⚡

The Half-Blood Prince was not going to be this week’s Throwback Thursday, but here we are, TBT with this Potter book.

I love the whole Harry Potter saga, I think that’s clear after me taking the time to talk about each book, but The Half-Blood Prince made me re-read it a few times when it first came out, and it soon became a favourite book.

After reading it, I had to wait for The Deathly Hallows, so I had to keep going back to The Half-Blood Prince for more.

Let us begin. 🔮

I’ll jump right in, and perhaps go back and forward, so please be patient with my upcoming rambling.

Bubble

The story is set in Tokyo, after bubbles that broke the laws of gravity rained down upon the world. Cut off from the outside world, Tokyo has become a playground for a group of young people who have lost their families, acting as a battlefield for parkour team battles as they leap from building to building.

Title: バブル (Hepburn: Baburu) – Bubble

Year: 2022

Where? Netflix. 📺

What is it? A movie. 📽️

Genres: Post-apocalyptic, YA, adventure.

Alright, so I sometimes do Anime related ones here as you might know. And Bubble deserved an entry.

It’s one of the best animated movies I’ve watched in the past three years. So charming, so heart throbbing and heartbreaking, and lovely and wowing, all at the same time.

Friday Flashback: Eclipse

“I coveted you. I had no right to want you–but I reached out and took you anyway. And now look what’s become of you! Trying to seduce a vampire.”

Happy Friday, dearies! 📚

Here we are once more. A new Friday, a new Flashback.

And a random one for this Friday’s Flashback. 🧛

I just thought, why not? Eclipse, book #3 in the Twilight Series, was one of my favourites, and I re-read it so many times (back then) that I wore it out and on the outside it stopped looking new, meaning it’s well-used now. 😄

Hello, dearies!

Here’s another that I didn’t think I would create or read, but life has its turns and here we are.

I enjoyed Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, even when the YA part got a little exaggerated and I was fighting with the main character out aloud alone in my room.

Horimiya

‘Kyoko Hori is a bright and popular high school student, in contrast to her classmate Izumi Miyamura, a gloomy and seemingly nerdy boy.’

ホリミヤ
(Horimiya)
by Hero, Daisuke Hagiwara (Artist)

A lovely one.

One of the first reviews I start with a one-liner I know already. 😄

Hello, dearies! 💖

Horimiya is one of those that I first watched the anime then read the manga, but it’s alright, you can do it like that as well, there’s not much difference in the story, except for the ending of the Manga, that’s a plus for us readers.

I’ll jump right in.

Flashback: The 5th Wave

“You can only call someone crazy if there’s someone else who’s normal. Like good and evil. If everything was good, then nothing would be good.”

Hello, dearies! 📙

This is not a book review.

Here we are again, another week, another throwback or flashback as it is, a Friday Flashback. Last week, I started this little section with a review (sort of) for The Bane Chronicles: Saving Raphael Santiago, which marked the first look into the past, and it was a TBT.

Now, this week I decided to go with a book that I loved in the past, and on the second round of reading it, The 5th Wave. I have a review already for this back, and it was done a long time ago, you can check it out here: The 5th Wave review.

This time around, I wanted to talk about some of the characters and the story. Let’s begin. 📚

The Bane Chronicles: Saving Raphael Santiago

‘Word had spread throughout New York that Magnus was the warlock who would get you out of a jam. There was a Sanctuary, too, up in Brooklyn, if you needed to hide, but the witch who ran it didn’t solve your problems. Magnus solved problems. So why not get paid for it?’

Story: Saving Raphael Santiago

Authors: Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan

Book: The Bane Chronicles – Book #6

Genres: Vampires, Fantasy, YA, Short Story

Hello, dearies! 🦇

I’m trying a new thing for Thursdays or Fridays, a sort of Throwback post or Flashback, and I thought this one would be perfect for it as The Bane Chronicles is a throwback indeed or a flashback if you must, at least for me.

As Today is Thursday, this is the first Throwback Thursday book review, thoughts.

Saving Raphael Santiago it’s not all that engraved in my mind, don’t ask me why because I cannot recall, but it was of the stories in The Bane Chronicles, so of course, I had to read it.

Stranger Things Season 4 – Part 1: Wow

Hello, dearies! ✉️

Did you watch it? Have you watched it yet?

Stranger Things Season 4 is now available, and all that promises it delivers, you can watch all of it now, or wait until July for the second part and binge-watch the whole season, I would have done that, but I couldn’t wait anymore, I wanted to see now, now, go, go.

It’s so good. And Jamie Campbell Bower is there, so he makes it all better. Like wherever he is, you are entranced by his role, and you want to know more about it. 🎥
