the duke and I cover review

The Duke and I

Author: Julia Quinn

Bridgertons Series Book 1

Genre: Romance, Historical Romance, Regency, Adult (sort of)

Guess what? This rarely happens to me but it took me over a month to read The Duke and I, shocking! I know. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ˜ต

And I finish half the book and a night and a morning, with some hours of sleep in between and also like an hour of work thrown in there. I mean, itโ€™s outrageous to believe that for the whole of February, I didnโ€™t feel the need to pick up the book and when I did I often put it down after a few pages because I would drift very often and not know what I was reading, the words would not compute.

Iโ€™m sorry for this author, JQ, but maybe itโ€™s something in her narrative, and Iโ€™m sorry for all the fans out there but itโ€™s the truth. Alright, alright. I will begin to talk a bit more about the plot and story and will also compare it with the Netflix show, I watched it before reading this. Soโ€ฆ possible spoilers ahead.๐Ÿ‘€

Idhun’s Memories 3: Panteรณn

Trilogy: Idhรบn’s Memories (The Idhun Chronicles)

Author: Laura Gallego

I’m doing this one because it felt in some parts like I was reading it for the first time.

And I completely blocked out 2 facts in this book or so it seems, it was so real for me that A died, at first I was perplexed that that fact was out of my mind for so long.

So, let’s do this once more, and I apologise beforehand because I know these books are in Spanish and some of you might not be able to read them yet, still, I wanted to share.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: The Wicked Ones

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Authors: Cassie Clare & Robin Wasserman

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Drama

It took me a while to read this one, but I did so enjoyed it and in the end, it led to what we already knew. But while reading The Wicked Ones, I was actually trying to remember about what little information I had on Cรฉline Montclaire and as such I will now share my in-the-moment thoughts.

If you haven’t read this short story or don’t know about The Mortal Instruments story, I suggest you don’t continue because there are some spoilers here.

You have been warned.ย

Get the book: Midnight Sun – Ebook or Hardcover

Let’s get this PoV started… I was so excited and I read with excitement up until some points at the end that had the capacity to slow my reading progress but at the same time I wanted to finish because I like the story as a whole, these books and movies were a big part of my life in the past and so I wanted to continue and see what Edward thought for sure, I didn’t expect him to be so mopey at times.

The Darkest Star

Origin Series

Author: Jennifer Armentrout

Genres: YA. Fantasy. Romance. Totally F*ing Awesome

This is not going to be easy. Also this is going to be so incredibly full of my really inner thoughts. Get ready.

And then I was done. Wow. The last chapter was pretty normal, but before that everything was really heated. I will try to keep the spoilers to a minimum because I want you guys to read it without knowing the main events. However since the first chapters I have been stopping and writing little notes about the moments that got to me.

The Lunar Chronicles 2: Scarlet

Book Series: The Lunar Chronicles 2

Author: Marissa Meyer

Genres: Young-Adult, Futuristic, Re-telling, Sci-fi

Recommendation: 4.5 Stars

I liked it, a lot, I think more than Cinder, however for letting us hanging at the beginning in such a way, we wanted more of Kai and Cinder, and instead were greeted by a stranger, for that and for not grasping my attention as I know it should have been grasped, because of it, 4.5 of 5.

Now my thoughts on the whole thing, you will be surprised by how much I liked it.

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy

Authors: Cassandra Clare, Sarah Ress Brennan, Maureen Johnson, Robin Wasserman

Genre: Short Stories, Fantasy, Young Adult

There are so many moments in this one, I will try to be organised and direct.

If you have not read any of the books in the Shadow World, specially The Mortal Instruments, then I seriously recommend that you first read those and then this one, and if you do not know what this one is about or who is the main character, then please stop reading this, because it contains spoilers for those who are new to the Shadowhunters world. That said, welcome and I hope you share my thoughts on this one.
