First Reads during the New Year 📚

🎉🎈Happy 2021 🎉🎈

Hello, dearies! I hope your New Year’s holiday was full of light and safety. It seems that’s what we’re wishing these days, but that’s life during pandemics.

Did you read a lot? I started reading (again… *cough* again a second time) The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon, aka Outlander 5 and I want to finish this want, but it’s long, and I haven’t had the focus to really enjoyed, I started in December but didn’t continue because there were too many distractions, family and work and you know the drill, the mundane who would not let you sit down and enjoy the book. So, I started a secondary book that ought to be shorter and quicker, and well, I’m still reading it, though I’d had a few good laughs, it’s completely different from TFC, I don’t know if you watched the movie (I have, a couple of times) but I’m reading Confessions of a Shopaholic, and it’s quite funny to see how Rebbeca finds excuses in the oddest most absurd ways to buy something, which I suppose is the point but in the book is so much in your face then it’s in the movie, but I am not reviewing right now, I was telling a story of what I’m reading, and those are the two on my phone. As for paperbacks, I have The Red Scrolls of Magic, Magnus and Alec from the Shadowhunters world, which I really, really want to read but I also want to concentrate on it. And I have a hardcover, The Brightest Night, this one, I’m more afraid than anything else to read because I feel like I’m going to be absorbed completely, and also I may cry and laugh in equal amounts.

But those are the ones I have at the top of the TBR, I’m leaving the list of these 4 next, in case you want to add them to your own list.

Books on the List

Thank you for reading everyone, though this was more of a confessional time, I appreciate that you made to the end, and if you ever want some advice on books or want to read some reviews, you know you can subscribe, right? Here, on the right, there you go, there are the buttons you need, and you can also check out my social media for more, including snippets of chapters and alternative covers or quotes from my favourite books. That’s truly it, have a nice night or day, and happy reading! 🙂

A Lion’s Pride – First Three

I finished these three in a few days because they’re quite the quick read, oh yes, I just jumped in this time, don’t worry there are no spoilers on this. Anyway, A Lion’s Pride the Series by Eve Langlais are a fun read like most of Eve’s books, I have read tons by her, even though I don’t have the reviews here on the blog, they get me out of book-slumps, book-hangovers, and the sort, they made me get going and jump into other series.

Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance

Hello, dearies! How is December going? Mine is a bit cold and expecting it to be colder as the 24th approaches.

This one will be short as the previous, sorry if I have been a little absent from social media and given quick reviews but work has been full-time, and sleep not so constant, yet, here we are again with another set of books.

5 Christmas-related eBooks

I checked out Smashwords and found some titles that are Holiday, Christmas related, so I decided to share 5 that caught my eye, actually, there were more, but for now, I’m sharing these with you, in case you want to add them to your list and read on Christmas’ Eve.

Hello, dearies! ❄️It’s December 1st! ❄️ 2020 had us on a rollercoaster, but we made it this far, we can make until the 31st, right? Hopefully.

I checked out Smashwords and found some titles that are Holiday, Christmas related, so I decided to share 5 that caught my eye, actually, there were more, but for now, I’m sharing these with you, in case you want to add them to your list and read on Christmas’ Eve. ☃️

A Rose in Winter

The great thing about Shana Abe’s books, is that in the end, you end up liking them, in some way or another.

Author: Shana Abe

Genres: Historical, Romance, European Literature, Fiction, Adult

The great thing about Shana Abe’s books, is that in the end, you end up liking them, in some way or another. Of course, nothing compares to The Drakon Series, which I still believe to be greatest ones I’ve read by her, next to The Sweetest Dark books, but A Rose in Winter had me from ugh to ooh to aww to wow, I did not give it 5 stars because there was not that total awesome and abandonment into it that had drawn me to other books, but I enjoyed it enough, and if you brave it out through the middle of it, then you’re good at the end, it was a nice ending and there a plot twist here and there that I didn’t expect.

Oh, the main character’s name is Damon, so, of course, I had to go on reading until I knew how it all ended.

This one is quite short since I just thought to share with you guys this rather quick read I had, I mean according to my ebook reader, it took me about 9 hours to finish the book, and that divided in several days, which mean I could have finished the book in a day if I had had the time to do as much. That’s it for now. I hope you found a new book to read. You can read the description here.

Idhun’s Memories 3: Panteón

I finished this one a second time (maybe third), and I can still recommend it, I loved it again.

Trilogy: The Idhun Chronicles (Memorias de Idhún)

Pantheon – Book #3

Author: Laura Gallego

🌟⭐🌠🌠🌟

I’m doing this one on Pantheon because it felt in some parts like I was reading it for the first time.

And I completely blocked out 2 facts in this book, or so it seems. It was so real to me that A died, at first I was perplexed that that fact had been out of my mind for so long.

So, let’s do this once more, and I apologise beforehand because I know these books are in Spanish, and some of you might not be able to read them yet, still, I wanted to share.

About Christopher Herondale

“There were valuable first editions of books in the enormous library, most of them had been scribbled in by some idiot named Will H.”

World: Shadowhunters

Books: The Dark Artifices, Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Alright, I am going to do it. I have to do it. If you do not know who Christopher Herondale is, then by all means either do not read this one or read away because you want some Spoiler from The Dark Artifices and The Lost Herondale legend.

Spoilers ahead.

Special Thank you Note

Hello, dearies! Guess what? I have made it to 100 followers, I know what you’re thinking, 100? So what? Well, for me it’s a milestone, and I never gave much thought to those numbers, the number of people following the blog. I do this because I love writing and I love books, and talking about them seemed like a pretty good idea, but I appreciate all the same that all of you took the time to hit that follow button.

100 follows

It has not been easy to keep up the blog, and if I didn’t have a muggle job, I don’t think I would be able to maintain it much, but here we are, and I hope you will continue to follow this journey with me. That’s it. 😄

💖Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💖

Now a Halloween Movie Book Tag

And because I can, I am doing a different post for this other tag. It was fun trying to think of books for the Halloween Book one, and yes I posted them both today on Halloween because when else? Happy Halloween, dearies! 🎃👻

Oh, and check out the one from Paperbacks and Planners, and the one who tag me, Whispering Stories.  🙂

Let’s start.

Halloween Song Book Tag – ReTag?

A book tag? That’s right, I did one of this and maybe another one is coming too. Halloween Song Book Tag. Enjoy.

Hello, dearies! As you might know from previous lists and posts, I don’t usually do this kind of post, but I thought that for Halloween I should try, though I don’t know how it will since when asked questions like these ones, I usually go blank and forget all the books I have ever read, lol, I know.

I’ll give it my best, so here we go. This tag was a tag from Riddhi at Whispering Stories, but the original was first seen on a video. That’s enough rambling, starting for real now.

HP and The Chamber of Secrets

Continuing our journey through the magical world of Harry Potter, now, one of my favs, The Chamber of Secrets, not my all-time favourite but pretty close.

Saga: Harry Potter

Author: JK Rowling

Genre: Fantasy, Magic, Wizards

Listen to the Podcast

Continuing our journey through the magical world of Harry Potter, now, one of my favs, The Chamber of Secrets, not my all-time favourite but pretty close. For part one of this, you can read my ramblings on HP and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The Chamber of Secrets is one of the books I appreciate being a second good book, not many manage that, sometimes the second statements are either boring or slow or plain crazy, and other times like with Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles 2) or The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings), you, just get a winner or Where She Went, none of these books has absolutely anything to do with each other, but they are all seconds and good ones, The Subtle Knife too from His Dark Materials. To the point, I know.
