Ghosts of the Shadow Market: The Wicked Ones

It took me a while to read this one, but I did so enjoyed it and in the end, it led to what we already knew. But while reading The Wicked Ones, I was actually trying to remember about what little information I had on Céline Montclaire.

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Authors: Cassie Clare & Robin Wasserman

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Drama

It took me a while to read this one, but I did so enjoyed it and in the end, it led to what we already knew. But while reading The Wicked Ones, I was actually trying to remember about what little information I had on Céline Montclaire and as such I will now share my in-the-moment thoughts.

If you haven’t read this short story or don’t know about The Mortal Instruments story, I suggest you don’t continue because there are some spoilers here.

You have been warned.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes – Book Review of the Prequel to The Hunger Games.

World: Panem

Author: Suzanne Collins

Prequel to The Hunger Games

Listen to it: Book Chat with Me

For the book review of The Hunger Games, check out that link you just passed, back, there you go, that one. 🙂

Now, let’s get this party started, beginning as usual (almost usual) with my thoughts as I read the book. It was not easy to stop and jot down some thoughts while reading this one, especially because it was my first time reading on my phone, on Amazon Kindle, but I made it work, and the note thing on Kindle made it much easier. Though I was saving up ‘quotes’ too, so bear with me.

HP and the Philosopher’s Stone

Saga: Harry Potter

Book: The Philosopher’s Stone

Author: JK Rowling

Oh, wow. I know this is weird perhaps, but I wanted to dedicate a little more to each of these books, although I already have the Wizarding World page where I say just how great everything is. I decided now, to go book by book, quickly and point out once more that they’re great, though it might surprise us Potterheads that there are still people out there who have not read HP ever in their lives, so this is for you too.

“The ancient study of alchemy is concerned with making the Philosopher’s Stone, a legendary substance with astonishing powers. The Stone will transform any metal into pure gold. It also produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal.”
—A Hogwarts library book

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: Learn About Loss

A short review but to the point. Another good story.

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Authors: Cassandra Clare & Kelly Link

This one is also super short, but it was a really good story too.

I don’t think there was one that I didn’t like in this compilation.

Chain of Gold

“There is no better distraction in this world than losing oneself in books for awhile.”

Author: Cassandra Clare

Series: The Last Hours

Some Families: Herondale, Carstairs, Lightwood, Fairchild, Blackthorn

There is so much to say, and I better give it to you straight and without delay, this is mostly my thoughts while reading, immediately after, or right in the middle of things, so pardon my scattered ramblings, but it had to be like this.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: The Lost World

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Authors: Cassie Clare

Genre: Pain, YA, more sorrow

Some of these reviews are way quicker than others, not only because they are short stories but also because I was not entirely stopping on all of them to jot down my thoughts, so things slip a bit out of my grasp when I actually write the review but be advised there might be some spoilers here, for those who don’t know much about the Shadow World. There are way too many books on it (which is great), and I’m grateful that I have read most of them. The Eldest Curses is the only big one that I’m missing right now.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: The Land I Lost

When Alec arrives, he is not welcomed by the Shadowhunters there. He believes it is because of his companion Lily, the head of the New York vampire clan, until a Shadowhunter orphan confides a dark secret to him under cover of the Shadow Market.

Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market

Series: Shadowhunters. Shadow World

Authors: Cassandra ClareSarah Rees Brennan

Is going to be short, but I wanted to relay just how amazingly good it was, that even after reading all the Shadow World books there is still room for the little stories, and we will still love them all as if they were part of a series.
