The Infernal Devices: Review and Thoughts

Author: Cassandra Clare

Genres: Fantasy. Drama. Young Adult. Steampunk.

I’ll try to make this quick…

I tend to say that but considering that I have to talk about Jem, Will and Tessa that might not be entirely true this time… oh! And Gideon as well as Gabriel and Cecily but the latter two will not be that much in my ramblings.

What to say that has not been said before? I know, lots of things! Because never in my wildest dreams (cue in Taylor Swift’s song in the background if you want) would have I imagined that Cassandra could surprise me or make me love even more characters from the Shadow World, Jem is almost certainly perfect, Tess can be a little bit annoying but by book 3 you wanted to be like her or have her luck, that was when you were not crying over the events in that book, as for Will Herondale… what can I say? You might have thought he was just like Jace but in the end he really wasn’t, not entirely.

But that is enough for the overview, I will give you a bit of what I thought as I was reading Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess, since Clockwork Angel is pretty much done in that link you just overlooked. I do not think that there is much spoilers here but if you are like me and do not like to know a thing a book before reading it, then do not continue, just know this: They Are Great.

Clockwork Angel… short review

Author: Cassandra Clare

I should really wait until I finish all three books, which is what I was going to do before writing this. Oh! Well, I am doing it right now.

Have you read The Mortal Instruments? I hope you have, because they are so completely awesome, but this is about what happened before Clary, Jace, the Lightwoods, and Simon all got together to save the world.

Stardust

 Author: Neil Gaiman

Well, this is a first. I didn’t like this book as much as I suspected I would, I loved the movie is one of my favourite movies of all times, I have lost count of the times I’ve watched it, I practically know the dialogues by heart as well as the music and scenery, I love it.

But we are here, in this virtual space because of the books, books we love, books we share with others, books we share even when we don’t like them that much (even thought I do not tend share the ones I do not love). I wish I could say that I absolutely adored this read but I got to be honest, I have read better, I am not saying that Mr Gaiman is a bad a writer or nothing of the sort because he isn’t and he has incredible imagination, this is about me and the fixation I had with the movie, I suppose.  Although it really is the first time that I read something and did not find it as charming as the film.

The Infinite Sea: Honest Review

“It isn’t that the lies are too beautiful to resist. It’s that the truth is too hideous to face.”

Author: Rick Yancey

Genres: Young Adult, Science Fiction, Dystopia, Aliens, Fiction, Fantasy, Romance (light)

Forget all in the world for hours and get lost in The Infinite Sea that Rick Yancey created for us. Why mention that it is honest? Are they not all honest? Yes, they are but this one felt like it really struck a couple of nerves more than others, and I decided to pour out everything like never before.

This contains spoilers, so read only if you have read The Infinite Sea.

I had my doubts when I started the book, and I started the book because I liked The 5th Wave’s Ending, this one though, took me more than any other book to read, and it was not because it was bad but because nearing the end, when I was 80% done with it, and Ringer was been transformed into an enhanced human and there was nothing to do about it, I stopped reading for some unknown reason, I could not bring myself to finish it because then there will be no more.

Intimate Enemies

Author: Shana Abe

Let us begin with this, the book is not for everyone. That said, I loved it!

How many times do I say that about a book? Quite often, I know, but if you know me then you know I mostly write here about the books I enjoyed.

Intimate Enemies was difficult for me to really start reading, I had it on my phone for some time actually, and I had read the first page I think, first line and was like, eh, maybe not, even though it was Shana’s and I love how she writes, one of my favourite authors, in case you didn’t figure that one out due to the extensive quotes I have all around from her books, and the fact that most of my reviews are about books by her.

I strayed from the path there, sorry. Back to IE, it has a certain uniqueness to it; the book is set years ago, as in 1170’s more or less, and by the title you can guess that this two clans are not really friendly, until Arion and Lauren are old enough to know they have a thing for each other. Are you planning on reading the book? Don’t worry there is not much spoiler here.

The Sweetest Dark Books

By Shana Abé

Well hello readers! Here we are again. Another book or books, another post full of my inner thoughts.

If you are a regular to Books Everywhere, then you might know Ms. Shana Abé, author of the Drákon Series and many other books. The Drákon Series is by far one of my favourite stories, and of course Shana is one of my absolute favourite authors, since she is one of the few who actually makes me read descriptions and pay attention to the little things in a book (although I know I’ve said that I don’t) because if you don’t know those details, then you end up completely lost and have to go back a chapter or two and find out what truly happened.

But enough of that, you are reading this because you want a new book to read or you love these two in The Sweetest Dark Series. Let us begin.

Where She Went

Author: Gayle Forman

And a little something about: If I Stay

Alright, everyone ready for this?

What.
The.
Heck?

I mean seriously, I spent like 5 or 10 minutes after I was done with the book looking through wiki and Gayle’s official website for another piece of Adam and Mia, and you know what I found? You know it, Nothing!

A Dance with Dragons

A Song Of Ice and Fire #5

Author: George R. R. Martin

Since we are not getting A Song of Ice and Fire #6The Winds of Winter anytime soon, I might as well write about A Dance with Dragons, which is my favourite book so far in this saga. Especially because of Dany.

On that note, I love this one. It is quite interesting to say the least. If you are mainly a fan on the HBO Tv Series, then good for you that’s nice. However, the books? What can I say? I have a freaking main page in this blog solely dedicated to it, doesn’t that say how awesome they are? I confess I started reading the books after season one of GOT but come on, you see the series you go running face first into the books and then… nothing, you stay in limbo because Mr Martin haven’t published the 6th book.

City of Heavenly Fire

The Mortal Instruments #6

Author: Cassandra Clare

Apparently, I didn’t write a post about the most amazing, awesome book in The Mortal Instruments Series.

Whoa, anyone would think I didn’t LOVE this book. Now you know, I did. It was great, I remember I would stay up late reading, I would wake up and read… think about it when I wasn’t reading it. Wish for Magnus to be on every freaking page but he wasn’t and that’s alright, Jace was or Izzy or Alec… I’m not a big fan of some but hey that doesn’t really matter, the best ones are still there.

Opposition

“We were supposed to have tonight and tomorrow, and many weeks and months, but we didn’t have even another minute.”

Lux #5

Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Genre: Freaking Grand

It ended. Oh My…

No more Daemon Black… yes, that was basically my only thought in a loop. But like everything, life goes on if not ask Katy. I must say she redeemed herself to me on this last book. She pulled together.

Jennifer Armentrout, you are a genius. I don’t know what it was in this book (maybe an unknown visual hypnosis) but I was hooked no matter where I looked. All I have to say to this author is: Thank You.

I’m going to assume you have read the book if not, what are you waiting for? Although if you haven’t read ANY of the Lux Novels then by all the baby aliens everywhere please start, it would be worth your time.
