Stardust

 Author: Neil Gaiman

Well, this is a first. I didn’t like this book as much as I suspected I would, I loved the movie is one of my favourite movies of all times, I have lost count of the times I’ve watched it, I practically know the dialogues by heart as well as the music and scenery, I love it.

But we are here, in this virtual space because of the books, books we love, books we share with others, books we share even when we don’t like them that much (even thought I do not tend share the ones I do not love). I wish I could say that I absolutely adored this read but I got to be honest, I have read better, I am not saying that Mr Gaiman is a bad a writer or nothing of the sort because he isn’t and he has incredible imagination, this is about me and the fixation I had with the movie, I suppose.  Although it really is the first time that I read something and did not find it as charming as the film.

You see, Stardust, has its perks, because Gaiman really do knows how to immerse you or make you imagine all the things in a book, but there was so many strange things going on that it was difficult to keep up. I suppose that if I had read this before watching the movie, or years ago I would have liked it enough, but I was truly expecting something else. So don’t judge, it is not like I think film adaptations are better than books, is just that in this case I happened to love the Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro all in one awesome bundle.

This was short and to the point, I would normally talk about the best parts of the book but I don’t feel that I have much to say, I read and liked but not enough to comment more on it… but do keep in touch, I will leave you the links to my social side below as always.
