Continue reading “The Lunar Chronicles 3: Cress”It doesn’t usually happen, but Marissa sometimes manages to shock me and made me scream and curse at the pages of books, and I had some of those moments with Cress. And the last page took me by surprise, I was so engrossed in it, that I turned and when I saw the Acknowledgements page my jaw fell. I knew I would finish this book way too quickly

For the book review of The Hunger Games, check out that link you just passed, back, there you go, that one. 🙂
Now, let’s get this party started, beginning as usual (almost usual) with my thoughts as I read the book. It was not easy to stop and jot down some thoughts while reading this one, especially because it was my first time reading on my phone, on Amazon Kindle, but I made it work, and the note thing on Kindle made it much easier. Though I was saving up ‘quotes’ too, so bear with me.
Continue reading “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”A short review but to the point. Another good story.
Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market
Authors: Cassandra Clare & Kelly Link
This one is also super short, but it was a really good story too.
I don’t think there was one that I didn’t like in this compilation.

“There is no better distraction in this world than losing oneself in books for awhile.”
Author: Cassandra Clare
Series: The Last Hours
Some Families: Herondale, Carstairs, Lightwood, Fairchild, Blackthorn
There is so much to say, and I better give it to you straight and without delay, this is mostly my thoughts while reading, immediately after, or right in the middle of things, so pardon my scattered ramblings, but it had to be like this.
Continue reading “Chain of Gold”Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market
Authors: Cassie Clare
Genre: Pain, YA, more sorrow
Some of these reviews are way quicker than others, not only because they are short stories but also because I was not entirely stopping on all of them to jot down my thoughts, so things slip a bit out of my grasp when I actually write the review but be advised there might be some spoilers here, for those who don’t know much about the Shadow World. There are way too many books on it (which is great), and I’m grateful that I have read most of them. The Eldest Curses is the only big one that I’m missing right now.

When Alec arrives, he is not welcomed by the Shadowhunters there. He believes it is because of his companion Lily, the head of the New York vampire clan, until a Shadowhunter orphan confides a dark secret to him under cover of the Shadow Market.
Book: Ghosts of the Shadow Market
Series: Shadowhunters. Shadow World
Authors: Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan
Is going to be short, but I wanted to relay just how amazingly good it was, that even after reading all the Shadow World books there is still room for the little stories, and we will still love them all as if they were part of a series.
Continue reading “Ghosts of the Shadow Market: The Land I Lost”Author: Cassandra Clare & Maureen Johnson
From: Ghosts of the Shadow Market
Type: Short Story
Genre: Fantasy, Supernatural, Drama
I’ll be quick with this one, though I have a few pointed comments. Spoilers might be included if you have not read any of the Shadowhunter books or the TID trilogy.

“Human beings can’t see anything without wanting to destroy it. That’s original sin. And I’m going to destroy it. Death is going to die.”
Books: Northern Lights. The Subtle Knife. The Amber Spyglass
Author: Philip Pullman
Genre: Fantasy, High Fantasy, Science Fantasy
So Fantasy, yes.
I read these books a long time ago so bear with me.
The main thing I always remember about His Dark Materials books is that I found them utterly fascinating and I could not stop reading after finishing the first one, the second and third had to be read and they were far more exciting than the Northern Lights. I’m not going to go into it book by book but probably jump around between the three, I hope you are ready.

Alright so, I tried to stop and give you a briefing as I was reading this one like I did with The Darkest Star, but I started in Ch 19. You’ll just have to believe that before that moment, everything was good and I couldn’t stop reading; afterward, I forced myself to stop and put down the book (The Burning Shadow obviously) to write random (not so random) notes.
And then I was done. Wow. The last chapter was pretty normal, but before that everything was really heated.

This is not going to be easy. Also this is going to be so incredibly full of my really inner thoughts. Get ready.
And then I was done. Wow. The last chapter was pretty normal, but before that everything was really heated. I will try to keep the spoilers to a minimum because I want you guys to read it without knowing the main events. However since the first chapters I have been stopping and writing little notes about the moments that got to me.
