A book that earns 5 stars is one that captivates, evokes strong emotions, and keeps you engaged in the story. Not always but generally it goes like this. 😎
Spoiler alert, it’s not just the fantasy one… not always.
Hello, dearies! 😎
I was considering the stars system and the books, and I have always said that if I could give more stars to a book I would, which technically I can if I want but not on Goodreads of course. In life.
Anyway, as my latest read was a 5 star because that’s how much I liked it. I thought of this question, what type of books do you give 5 stars to?
“Old stories are like old friends, she used to say. You have to visit them from time to time.”
Author: George RR Martin
Genres: Fiction, Fantasy,
Series: A Song of Ice and Fire Book #3
Friday Flashback (Flashback Friday)
I had some confusion going with this one and A Clash of Kings. Don’t know why, don’t how that happened. Perhaps because I read all three books in a row. A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and this one A Storm of Swords.
New Section dedicated to those difficult questions and moments that would give away a book and how it all ends.
Hello, dearies! 📆
Welcome to a new segment? Special? Section? Category? Anyway, welcome to this new special, I’ll go with special. Spoiler Time Sunday, as the name indicates this will be about spoiler. 😎
Now, if you have read some of my book reviews you might know that I don’t like spoilers, giving them or receiving them, but sometimes I get questions or people come to the blog because they want spoilers, so I decided to oblige the masses and talk occasionally about a specific thing in a book, manga, or anime (movies and shows?) that would be considered a big plot twist, a change, something that cannot be viewed as anything but spoiler in my eyes. 😄
For this prompt I was going to say Dragons, but some would say that the question is about an animal you find right now and not a “mythical” ones then well I went with my second favourite. 😉
Though, not just a domestic cat. I like all felines, specially the snow leopard or ounce. That is the name yes.
In one of my books I refer this leopard too, in comparison with a person, thought I haven’t published that book yet. I left that part in when I was rewritten it because I do love this animal.
So, if you get me anything in a cat, feline, leopard (not clothes) related way, a toy or a notebook or phone case, I would probably love it and treasure forever. It’s the way to my heart. 😄😺
This is the official first post of the year 2024. Since this the Year of The Dragon, and one of my favourite creatures (animals?) then I have decided to create a reading list of Books that have dragons or shifters 😏 in them.
And as a challenge to myself (you can join in as well) I will do my best to read all of these books this 2024.
How did 2023 went down for the blog? What did I post this year? What did I have to share with you all? From Jan to Dec is all here! 😊
Happy New Year, dearies! ✈️🎇🧨
First post of the year 2024! 📲📚
There were some exciting new developments in 2023. The Podcast: EachPage Flow, was officially launched. 9 Episodes are live now (when this was published). My YouTube channel is now available, too. Lots of travel vlogs from my Seoul first trip.
I started creating more content for TikTok, I hope you enjoy those as well.
But, this is about the blog, I know. So, what happened in the blog this year? I was surprised about it, looking back on the old posts, there was a lot.
Blog ReCap 2023
January
Nothing much happened in Jan 2023, I was planning a lot for the year. And I watched the movie Bubble.
February
Feb was about some good book challenges, I focused on the small town and UK setting for those book listings. And my thoughts of HP and The Half-Blood Prince came to life.
March
This month started with my love for book characters and because I remember how much I like Ginny Weasley. I continued my TBT and Flashback Friday specials. Gilmore Girls and Onyx (Lux Series) were featured.
April
I was in South Korea. But I still had some entries, maybe I was inspired by my trip. You can check some of it on my Travel VLog.
TBT for The Awakening (that is the first book in The Vampire Diaries series). And then I decided to list good books to get started with romance, fantasy, and mystery. I was feeling generous like that.
May
I finally finished reading The Keeper: A Stars Above Story, this is the first one (?) in the Stars Above compilation of stories for The Lunar Chronicles. Also in May, I watched Memories of the Alhambra and loved it!
And I finished reading The Lost Book of the White, that was something else. All Shadowhunter books are something else for me.
June
Mid-year and I read Lock Every Door, which was not my favourite to be honest. I did a special post for my Father’s Day. And dedicated time to Charmed, one of my all-time binge-watch comfort shows.
Oh, there was also the very special 10 Years of Blogging anniversary for me. Thank you again for being here.
July
Starting strong with A Game of Thrones Flashback. But also 50 Shades Darker flashback, that one was honest. This month I just talked about old reads, there was also The Secret Adversary and my final HP special with The Deathly Hallows.
I watched Love Again and talked about Patch Cipriano, dedicating a book characters entry to him because, have you read Hush Hush? He’s too much.
I did talk about Hush Hush on the Podcast.
October
I created my first book filter for TikTok. And because Halloween was around the corner, of course I did a Mystery book listing and an Autumn books special too. It was fun.
But the most important thing, I finished watching Fruits Basket (2019 Anime)for the first time and was completely in love with it. I still am, it’s great, so of course I read the Manga and watched the 2001 anime version, which I thought was insane and irrelevant.
I didn’t finish reading Dune in November, but I did post the review for it.
Also, I have a new filter on TikTok for Dystopian Books. A little challenge for book lovers there, in case you want to create new content for your booktok.
“He who hurries through life hurries to his grave.”
And that was my 2023 Blog Recap for EachPage, I hope you enjoyed this quick trip down memory lane, I certainly did because I didn’t think I’ll have as many entries and some months as I did. Although, I have been trying to publish more, but work and other social media keep me busy, as well as my writing. That’s another fun fact for September that I forgot, I published a new book: Behind the Tree Line.
That’s all, dearies! Thank you for sticking to the end and Happy New Year once more. 🎇
I usually don’t go this way and while 2023 was slow in terms of reading lengthy or any size of books, I still have some that I wanted to share with you all.
What did I read this year? In 2023 there were a lot of books in my hands and a lot of Manga, too. But it was a year of Manga in the end, although there were some re-read and new mystery books that I finished. It was a journey.
Hello, dearies! 📚📲
The year 2023 is coming to an end, and I feel like I didn’t read as much I would have other years, but I did because those Manga are long, and even I read them fast it’s still a lot. Though my TBR pile continues to grow and continues to look at me with a longing gaze because I haven’t gone through half of it yet, but it’s my goal next year to read more.
Let’s begin with my what I read in 2023 list though, you might find something you’ll love in it.
Read
Jujutsu Kaisen
(started reading, haven’t finished the ones available)
I’m still reading this one, but I started after the Shibuya incident started (season 2 of JJK) and I couldn’t wait week by week to know what would happen so I started reading and now I am beyond the anime, I know a lot of things that are going to happen next.
The Keeper (Stars Above)
If you read The Lunar Chronicles and love it, then this is definitely a most-read, though I do recommend reading after finishing TLC.
The Lost Book of the White
Ah, the shadow world, and my obsession with Shadowhunters and Warlocks, and everything in it. The Lost Book of the White just adds to that.
Lock Every Door
Yeah, I read it. And yes it was alright.
Fruits Basket
I fell down the rabbit hole and didn’t want to come back out from it at all.
Fruits Basket (2019), checked. Fruits Basket (Manga), checked. Even Fruits Basket (2001 ver), checked. And only 1 conclusion, I have a serious problem with toxic characters but also with protecting damaged ones. It’s a 50-50 thing.
Dune
It was a long read, I won’t deny it and sometimes I didn’t think I would make it, but I pushed through it and beyond the storm there were some interesting things about this book that I really enjoyed.
“Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.”
Chasing the Boogeyman
If you follow my blog, you might know already that I don’t have a review for this one. And well, that’s all you need to know about what I thought of the book.
Re-read
Horimiya
I loved this so much last year that I had to have it on my bookshelf and well, I re-read it too. The first three volumes at least.
LDK
I like L❤️DK, but there’s something about it that doesn’t convince me 100%. I still re-read the first 2 volumes and enjoyed it, too. I haven’t finished the whole series though.
Onyx
I think this was this year, but I can’t remember exactly when… it still a good re-read no matter when. Lux is a favourite series.
I’m sure that I’m missing some re-reads, but these are the books that I read this year. Did you read any of these as well? Let me know in the comments.
Don’t forget to stop by my social media, too, for some fun moment from books, Manga and Anime.
