Bubble

The story is set in Tokyo, after bubbles that broke the laws of gravity rained down upon the world. Cut off from the outside world, Tokyo has become a playground for a group of young people who have lost their families, acting as a battlefield for parkour team battles as they leap from building to building.

Alright, so I sometimes do Anime related ones here as you might know. And Bubble deserved an entry.

It’s one of the best animated movies I’ve watched in the past three years. So charming, so heart throbbing and heartbreaking, and lovely and wowing, all at the same time.

Now, from here on out, there will be some spoilers. This is the warning.

From the first two minutes of this movie, I was so hooked, I watched it all with excitement and wonder. I wanted to know what would happen. In the end, I didn’t really know what the bubble was, how they came to be, why they were there or if they were a freaking alien, that’s my guess, so I am going with it.

It’s not that they don’t explain what happened before the present day, what we watch, no, they do explain but they don’t say what this phenomenon was, that is the Bubbles. It all ended up a big mystery and an analogy to The Little Mermaid, hey, I’m all for that type of story but if it has a meaning in the end.

Ah, the end, it made me cry I won’t deny it.

Honestly, I recommend Bubble, you could watch it on a lonely, cold night, and have your heart beat faster because of it.

For a bit more concept and depth for you. This is a sort of dystopian story, of what would happen if suddenly Tokyo fell and was drowned by weird bubbles that appeared out of nowhere one day and sent everything into chaos.

It has great elements, like the main character is autistic, because he is, even if they don’t say it. Alright, he has Hyperacusis, that’s a thing, you can look it up.

Then they show how they all learnt parkour without much guidance and then they started to live in this desolate city, a bunch of kids with no guidance, sounds a bit familiar, but that’s not the point, because most dystopian stories follow the same line.

But yeah, it’s a lovely story, and I think I will recommend it a lot for years to come, I’m glad I finally watched it as it had been staring at me from the TBW list since it came out last year.

That’s it for now, I hope you will want to watch it as well, and if you end up with fewer questions than me and want to chat about it, you know you can find me on Instagram and Twitter. I always appreciate the love.

Thank you for sticking to the end with my ramblings, dearies… Don’t forget to follow the blog and share with friends too. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ“–

Happy watching! ๐Ÿ—ผ๐Ÿฏ
