Taken by a Dragon: Book Review

‘Possessed by a need to save a beautiful Amazon warrior from the vision he witnessed, Loke snatched her from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons, and carried her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell to protect her.’

That title sounds a bit stronger than the book actually is…

It took me a while to finish to be honest.

But the last 10% it came rolling back to life.

Also, one chapter was dedicated entirely to introducing a new character and get your attention to another book. It was too obvious but it did the job because I added that book to my TBR ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜†. I’m a sucker for fantasy, angels, and romances. As I have previously stated on these reviews about the Eternal Mates Series.

Hello, dearies! I might end up reading all 19 books one day. For now, I’m mixing and jumping among them, even when I usually like to read books in order, this particular series can be read like this almost without problem.

Well, it hadn’t been such a problem so far until this one where there were some characters that I knew who they were but didn’t know they ended up together, so spoilers for me. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฅฒ But it’s alright, I brought that on myself for skipping books.

Anyway, Taken by a Dragon is book #7 in the Eternal Mates Series, and I think I hyped up in my mind more than I should. I had other expectations of it since I loved Kissed by a Dark Prince and Tempted by a Rogue Prince, those I read in almost one-sitting, which I hadn’t done in a while, but this one? It took me a while to finish, yet, yes I gave it 4 stars because I did like it, even if around 60 to 75% of the book the author lost me, and I stopped reading for like two weeks or more. After that, I decided to finish it because I wanted to know how it’d end, if Loke would be okay, which he had to, and if Anais would get her mind straight and stop making me dumb decisions.

I mean, to give you a bit of context and spoilers. Humans in these books (most of them) work for an organization called Archangel, who hunts supernatural creatures (Shadowhunters?) and they’re the bad guys, no matter how you look at it since book 1 they have been doing shady business, and all these humans just want to believe that Archangel are the good guys protecting humans. Okay, maybe they do from the really evil Vampires, Shapeshifters, Angels, Elves, whatever, but it’s clear that their ultimate goal is to subdue and learn how to beat the supernatural. It’s obvious to me and the human women in these books get on my nerves for not realising that.

Now, if the author has another plan in mind, and the upcoming books show something completely different entirely then so be it, I will accept it. But so far of the books I have read in this series that’s how it looks. That, putting aside, the Demons, Angels, Elves, and Shapeshifters wars and fighting and whatever else is going on. There are a lot of things and they seem to connect only slightly.

In any case, yes, I did like the book. I finished and I’m here sharing it with you all. I hope that if you’re looking for a romance to read, that you’ll give the Eternal Mates a chance, they’re cool. And Taken by a Dragon is a 4 stars for me, and almost a 3 but it’s not bad. Perhaps others would like it more.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments, and if you’d like to know more about it, remember you can always reach out through social media and we can connect some more over books, manga, anime, and TV Shows too.

Thanks for reading, dearies! ๐Ÿ“–
