Series: The Vampire Diaries
Book: The Awakening
Author: L.J Smith
This one won’t be easy.
Hello, dearies! ๐ฆ
While I love The Vampire Diaries series, because I do, I think that out of the YA vampire books I’ve read or tried to, this is my favourite because the Salvatore brothers, I mean the story behind it is cool.
But, the first four books of the Series are not on my 5 stars list, the last 3 books on the other hand, yes, I can get behind and the story there it’s just great.
However, this is about the first book The Awakening. I decided to do a Throwback Thursday on it, even though I haven’t read this one in ages, I do know and remember the first time I read it, after reading Twilight, it was an eye-opener and I was beyond thrilled to have found this series, and thought to myself: this is how teenage vampires should be like.
Hey, I’m not trashing Twilight because I like Jacob and Edward, and everyone except Bella, but we all know that it’s a bit on the giving you bursts of giggle in the movies, and the books are good but you want to throttle Bella, is the truth.
Anywho, The Awakening, book 1 in The Vampire Diaries, where you first meet Elena Gilbert (Do not picture the Elena from the TV show that’s not the real one), and then Stefan, and soon after Damon. And Elena’s friends, who were actually cool. It all wraps you and swallows you into a world of horror and love triangle as well as a bloody business (yes, pun intended).
As advertised: The terrifying story of two vampire brothers and the beautiful girl torn between them…
That’s what you get, from the book that description tells you what you need. By the end of the book, you really want to read the rest of them and before you realize it, you’re reading book after book and you have to know what will happen next, it’s just that addictive.
I don’t think that I would change my mind on it, but if I ever re-read this series (anytime soon) I’ll let you know an unbiased opinion, of course.
I try to be objective most of the time, but some books are just too good and I keep on rambling about them. That’s what I do, I ramble and read books.
That about covers it for this TBT, I hope you enjoyed it and stayed to the end, that’s the best part for me, knowing you read the whole thing or that you shared, or liked or there’s a new follower. ๐
Thank you for the support, dearies!
And don’t forget to come back for more or check out the flashbacks sections for new post on old books or shows, and sometimes movies.
That’s it! Happy Reading! ๐งโโ๏ธ
