Shadowhunters Season 2

Episodes 01 to 05

Alright, here we go!

First let me eat a piece of chocolate and relax for a sec, then we will start this off…

Ok, I’m good to go!

It was all going so well, Shadowhunters was back, everyone looks AMAZING, the new characters are all very nice and then… Episode 4 happened! And my reaction was not normal, I spent the rest of that ep wondering what was going on and why were they doing such a thing, and then it was over and then Episode 5 happened and I did not know whether to wait for Malcolm Fade to appear at any moment or for the Angel to suddenly burst into the screen and awe us with its presence, alas none of that happened. Now, from here on there might be some major spoilers if you have not read the books or watched the show ever, so I suggest some caution.

Just to be clear: All that I write next is for the good of letting it all out of my mind and chest but I love Shadowhunters the show and all its actors and actresses.

Seven Years to Sin (Review… sort of)

‘Seven years ago, on the eve of her wedding, Lady Jessica Sheffield witnessed a scene so scandalous she could not erase it from her memory. Shocked, yet strangely titillated, she nevertheless walked down the aisle into a life serene yet unremarkable. But what she kept hidden fueled wildly imaginative and very illicit dreams. . .’

Author: Sylvia Day

Well, if you are into romance and historical, and as a plus adult fiction than you most definitely will absolutely love what goes down with Lady Jessica and the rather rakish Mr. Alistair Caulfield

Alright, let me be honest with this one… Sylvia Day has an excellent imagination and the few books I have read of her have been really great, she does has a lot of books under her name and reading them all in less than a month would be viable… if only the to-read list with many amazing authors and promising titles was not as long as it is.

Lady Midnight

Do I need to say is by Cassandra Clare? You probably already know that, but there I said it. Now, I might have to warn you that this review: could contain some minor spoilers, that I might talk a lot about Julian Blackthorn, and that I freaking loved it! Even more so than the other 10, I was as surprised as anyone else, because I love TMI and Clockwork Princess became one of my favorite books, but Lady Midnight was just too F**king Awesome!

And I know you will enter my chaotic thought process… thank you for being here. What you are about to read has some minor spoilers and it was written during and shortly after I read LM.

The Infernal Devices: Review and Thoughts

Author: Cassandra Clare

Genres: Fantasy. Drama. Young Adult. Steampunk.

I’ll try to make this quick…

I tend to say that but considering that I have to talk about Jem, Will and Tessa that might not be entirely true this time… oh! And Gideon as well as Gabriel and Cecily but the latter two will not be that much in my ramblings.

What to say that has not been said before? I know, lots of things! Because never in my wildest dreams (cue in Taylor Swift’s song in the background if you want) would have I imagined that Cassandra could surprise me or make me love even more characters from the Shadow World, Jem is almost certainly perfect, Tess can be a little bit annoying but by book 3 you wanted to be like her or have her luck, that was when you were not crying over the events in that book, as for Will Herondale… what can I say? You might have thought he was just like Jace but in the end he really wasn’t, not entirely.

But that is enough for the overview, I will give you a bit of what I thought as I was reading Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess, since Clockwork Angel is pretty much done in that link you just overlooked. I do not think that there is much spoilers here but if you are like me and do not like to know a thing a book before reading it, then do not continue, just know this: They Are Great.

Clockwork Angel… short review

Author: Cassandra Clare

I should really wait until I finish all three books, which is what I was going to do before writing this. Oh! Well, I am doing it right now.

Have you read The Mortal Instruments? I hope you have, because they are so completely awesome, but this is about what happened before Clary, Jace, the Lightwoods, and Simon all got together to save the world.

Very Special Edition: Castle season finale

This is basically what I thought of the last episode and how much I love the show, so if you have never seen the last season or the show, you will be reading spoilers and nothing else.

Let me number it all for you, the emotions I had in the finale… sadness, when it started because I knew it was the last one, fear because at every turn I was waiting for someone to kill Kate, relief (short lived) each time she was alright, or Kevin or Javi, or even Castle was, then something akin to excitement or adrenaline with those shooting scenes, discovering who was LokSat should have come more like a surprise but it was like disappointment rather. But when Caleb was very much alive and shot Rick, I literally gasped in surprise…

Hold the Door: A Game of Thrones Spoiler Ep for the fans

Well ‘The Door’ was something else; I cannot believe all that happened, actually I do but the end scene was just too traumatic and dramatic for me to grasp that it was in fact, something that will happen in the books, spoilers, spoilers everywhere.

I liked the episode but from here on I am going to be back and forward between the books and what happened in the show, because this is just too  much to hold in, and have to say it all while it is still fresh.

Stardust

 Author: Neil Gaiman

Well, this is a first. I didn’t like this book as much as I suspected I would, I loved the movie is one of my favourite movies of all times, I have lost count of the times I’ve watched it, I practically know the dialogues by heart as well as the music and scenery, I love it.

But we are here, in this virtual space because of the books, books we love, books we share with others, books we share even when we don’t like them that much (even thought I do not tend share the ones I do not love). I wish I could say that I absolutely adored this read but I got to be honest, I have read better, I am not saying that Mr Gaiman is a bad a writer or nothing of the sort because he isn’t and he has incredible imagination, this is about me and the fixation I had with the movie, I suppose.  Although it really is the first time that I read something and did not find it as charming as the film.

About Sebastian aka JCM

If you have not read The Mortal Instruments books from City of Glass onward then please restrain yourself from reading this post… it is so full of spoilers that you might have no need of reading the books to know one of the most psychotic characters ever created in the Shadow World. Kudos to Cassie Clare for having such imagination as to come up with Sebastian.

Alright you have been warned, and I am to assume you will know what I’m about to talk about or simply don’t care about the spoiler alert I just gave! Once more, Spoilers ahead. By the Angel! Read knowing that I tried to warn you.

Closing the Season: Our ‘Morning Star’ in the Shadow World

Well, the first season of Shadowhunters is done but that does not mean we are less excited about the next one then we were when they announced they would actually make one a month or so ago.

So many things to say, so little time… wait? Hold on a moment! I can say whatever I want there is no limit to my rambling here, and if you have read my other posts you might know this, so get ready! If you have no read the books, I suggest you don’t read this post, because there might be some reference (probably a lot of them) to them. About last episode of Shadowhunters TV I can tell you right now, that I liked it enough, even though there were way too many things that they should not have showed and others that they quite not explained.

Alright my lovelies, my fellow shadowhunters (lads and lasses alike) let’s get started…
