Lord of Shadows Review

I will first give you, the unedited review, this is what I felt and thought when I first finished the book. Be wary, it contains so many spoilers you will have to jump to the end of it, where I said it is good and nothing else, if you do not want to know what happens at the end of the book. You have been warned.

WTF wtf WTF????????

Cassandra lost it at the end of Lord of Shadows, was there not enough dead Blackthorns? Come on

This cannot be, is Livia. Sweet all knowing, ready to step aside for his brother to have a chance with Kit, Livvy.

No, no, and hell to the no.

This is perhaps one of the best books I have read this year. I love Lady Midnight but this is another level, I am starting to think this is the best one yet by Cassandra.

It had so many good things and up until the end, all great. I was ready to write a great happy review but this is too much, my heart is breaking, it was already getting there because of Alec. And Robert. Also Magnus and Tessa but this was the cherry on top, the drop that made the water spill from the glass, the little rock that made the avalanche happen.

Hail and farewell, Livvy.

Unless by some miracle, they revive her with their parabatai magic, that was a thought but no, she had to die and leave poor Ty. No, this is horrible! By the Angel this book is awesome.

The Book

Alright, all of that said from when I finished, now I’ll give you a more serene review, an edited one too. I loved it, I think Cassandra outdid herself this time, the whole book had something, some fact, some small detail that you needed to know, and I might have expected that from Annabelle but I was a little shocked at her crazy reaction in Idris, I really believed or wanted to, that she would not be mental after coming back from the dead, but there we have it.

And then the King took her, we know what to expect now from the next book.

Poor Livvy, truly. My heart broke in so many pieces, I’m still not over it. But I suppose Cassie thought it was a necessity, I really thought it might be Dru who would die for some reason, even Ty at some point but not Livvy, and not in what I honestly thought was kind of crazy. She was simply in the way. As for Ty, the Angel only knows how he will be next, at least he has Kit in whatever way.

Whoa! Diana! Whoa! That really took me by surprise, I imagined a million things but not that. I will not say what happened because it is one thing you should learn on your own.

As for the rest of the book, too many things happen, all so amazing. But if you have not read it, even if I just spoiled a big part for you, you should read it.

The books that are a must-read in the Shadow World would be: Clockwork Princess, City of Fallen Angels, City of Heavenly Fire, Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows, you cannot live without knowing the acts on those books.
