Horimiya

‘Kyoko Hori is a bright and popular high school student, in contrast to her classmate Izumi Miyamura, a gloomy and seemingly nerdy boy.’

Genres: Romance. Young Adult. School Life. Slice of Life.

A lovely one.

One of the first reviews I start with a one-liner I know already. 😄

Hello, dearies! 💖

Horimiya (Hori to Miyamura) is one of those that I first watched the anime then read the manga, but it’s alright, you can do it like that as well, there’s not much difference in the story, except for the ending of the Manga, that’s a plus for us readers.

I’ll jump right in.

New eBook Summer/Winter Sale on Smashwords 2022

Books Deals a plenty at Smashwords for this July 2022.

Hello, dearies! ⛱️❄️

Hope your weekend was great! I have been a little off the grid I know, but it’s been a difficult couple of months.

Now, I wanted to share Smashwords’ newest sales, this time for Summer/Winter time. The Sale Dates: July 1 – July 31, 2022. So it’s almost done, but it doesn’t mean you cannot find great deals still.

You’re probably thinking that I work for Smashwords or something, but that’s not it, I just like how they always have sales, and you can self-publish your books with a few instructions, which I have done.

So, what sort of sales or deals are we talking about? Well, you can get books that are 25% off, 50% off, 75% off, or for FREE. Yes, #freebooks, I know! But supporting authors can also come in the form of getting one of those books that are 75% off at least and will still be a great deal, something to consider. 🙂

I don’t have a list of book suggestions this time, but you can find all eBooks on sale here.

Also, if you’re an aspiring writer and would like to try your hand at self-publishing but don’t know how Smashwords work, you can ask me for sure.

Thank you for stopping by today and reading this quick one, I know it’s my usual one, but I wanted to mention the deals for this Summer/Winter sale.

That’s it for now, don’t forget to visit my social media as well or follow the blog for more. 💞

Happy Reading! 📚

Verity

“Most people come to New York to be discovered. The rest of us come here to hide.”

Author: Colleen Hoover

Genres: Thriller, Romance, Mystery, Dark, Adult

4 ⭐

Hello, dearies! 📖

First off, let me tell you a bit of what you’ll encounter in this book review for Verity because I feel like some warnings are necessary.

I gave it 4 stars to not give it 3 because that would affect the author, and I’m sure many love this book. And It’s not that I didn’t like it perse, but I didn’t enjoy it fully either. I gave it 4 out of 5 because it was well-written, and I thought, yes, I could read other books by this author.

But this review is honest, as honest it can be without giving away the ending. I’m warning now and will be warning you further ahead that there are spoilers in this review, many if you don’t want to know anything before reading Verity like me. I read it without even looking at the genres of it.

Let’s begin. 📝

Finale – Hush Hush Book 4

“Did you know, the first time I saw you, I thought: I’ve never seen anything more captivating and beautiful?”

Hello, dearies!

It took me some time to write this one, but here I am. As promised.

I will give you the randomness of my thoughts as they came when I was reading Finale, so bear with me for a bit. You might enjoy the quotes and snippets from the book.

Fair warning, this post is full of spoilers if you haven’t read any of the books in the Hush Hush Saga, including this one, book 4, Finale.

For more insight, you might want to first read my revamped review of Books 1 – 3.

5 Fingers Book Challenge

“Love the world and yourself in it, move through it as though it offers no resistance, as though the world is your natural element.”
The Time Traveler’s Wife

Hello, dearies!

I haven’t done one of these in a while, so welcome! ✌️

Today, I went with the 5 Fingers book challenge, which I found on Instagram.

I’ll jump right into it. ✋

Hush Hush Book 1-3 Revamped Review

‘“Since we’re keeping it primal, you smell good,” he observed. He moved closer, making me acutely aware of his size, the rise and fall of his chest, the warm burn of his skin on mine. Electricity tingled along my scalp, and I shuddered with pleasure.’

Books: Hush Hush, Crescendo, Silence

Author: Becca Fitzpatrick

Genre: YA, Fantasy, Romance, Supernatural, Angels, Urban Fantasy

Hi, dearies! This one is different from the last one because my perspective has broadened.

Years ago, I read this cool book by Becca Fitzpatrick and then went on to the whole Saga and loved it. That book was Hush Hush. 😄📖

HP and the Order of the Phoenix

“You do care,” said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. “You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.”

Series: Harry Potter

Book #5: The Order of the Phoenix

Author: JK Rowling

Genre: YA, fantasy, magic, drama

And we have arrived at our 5th Year at Hogwarts School of Magic and Wizardry. 🦉

Hello, dearies! I hope your day, night, midnight or early morning is going well and you are staying healthy and safe.

For this one, I cannot be certain how it will go since it was one of my favourites, the book and the movie, even though there’re tons of differences, I love to rewatch The Order of The Phoenix.

Let us begin at once. No time like the present. 📽️📘

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (The Book)

“Harry: This book belongs to Harry Potter.
Ron: Shared by Ron Weasley, because his fell apart.”

Book: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Author: JK Rowling under Newt Scamander

Genre: Fantasy

Hello, dearies! 📚

Guess what? The new Fantastic Beasts film is coming up next month, yes, that is April of 2022. Are you excited? I am. 🤩

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, or simply The Secrets of Dumbledore. Directed by David Yates and screenplay by J. K. Rowling; Steve Kloves, you know that what’s happening in the movie is for real because JK has a hand on it, like she did in the past Fantastic Beasts movies.

Alright, let’s get this party started.

The Bane Chronicles: The Rise of the Hotel Dumort

‘At least a pretty flapper vampire talking nonsense was better than a slobbering drunk werewolf. Magnus nodded as if listening and mentally counted the bottles of brandy and rum in the storage shelves below the bar.’

The Bane Chronicles Book #5

Authors: Cassandra Clare & Maureen Johnson

Genre: Fantasy, YA, Short Stories, Paranormal, Vampires.

Hello, dearies! 🦇

With this one, The Rise of the Hotel Dumort, we jumped ahead in time to 1929, and not only that but New York, meaning the place where The Mortal Instruments will be lively, in the future; but we are still years away from that, and we experience the Hotel Dumort and what happened to it and their vampires. 🧛

This is a tale we wanted to know about from the TMI series, where we read about the Hotel and the past, and Magnus, so we go there and check out the events. I know I’m not saying that much, but this story is worth reading for the first time with an unbias look, so I’ll leave it to Magnus to tell you the story.
