Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy

Authors: Cassandra Clare, Sarah Ress Brennan, Maureen Johnson, Robin Wasserman

Genre: Short Stories, Fantasy, Young Adult

There are so many moments in this one, I will try to be organised and direct.

If you have not read any of the books in the Shadow World, specially The Mortal Instruments, then I seriously recommend that you first read those and then this one, and if you do not know what this one is about or who is the main character, then please stop reading this, because it contains spoilers for those who are new to the Shadowhunters world. That said, welcome and I hope you share my thoughts on this one.

The Maze Runner

Author: James Dashner

Genres: Dystopian, Post-apocalyptic, Science-Fiction

Hello, dearies!

I read The Maze Runner a long time ago, so my memories might be a little too old. I read this one before the movie came out, just to make sure I had all the facts and that in it (the movie) everything was in order. It was accurate enough but many details were missing.

The Maze Runner book though, I remember I read like thirty percent of it and then stopped even though it is a dystopian book I did not feel like carrying on, but then picked it up after reading other books and saying: I have to finish it, I already started. And by the end of it, James convinced me.

No Snippet No Preview for Me: Queen of Air and Darkness

Call me crazy if you must but I do not want to know what is going to happen in the book, what could happen, what Mark or Kit or Ty will be suffering or discovering, I rather wait for the book and find out then because then the excitement will be out of me, I will know that something is coming, that at some point what I read a month before will happen. I do not want that at all.

For the Book Review of Queen of Air and Darkness go here.

The Fiercest Joy

Author: Shana Abé

Genres: Fantasy. Drama. Dragons.

Book 3 in The Sweetest Dark Trilogy. And book 8 in the Drakon world. Probably the numbers will change if Shana decides to write extra books about this story, this wonderful world she has created cannot be described in mundane words, it is too wonderful and so full of magic but I will do my best to convince you.

If you have read my previous post about these series (The Sweetest Dark) then you might be prepared for what it is coming now. It is all about the magic, and the drakon; it might be short but it will be sincere. Here it is.

The Lunar Chronicles 1: Cinder

By Marissa Meyer

Genres: Fairytale, YA, Romance, Retelling

Cinder, book 1 in The Lunar Chronicles, a futuristic twist to the classic story of Cinderella.

This one will be short, since for the first time I do not have much to say. Marissa Meyer knew how to grab all those beloved characters from classic fairy tales that we know and love, and somehow mixed them into a world of more wonder with a few splashes of enough strangeness to keep you guessing. Let us begin.

The Hunger Games Trilogy – Review

Author: Suzanne Collins

Genres: Dystopia. Drama. Young Adult. Romance (or something like it).

Books: The Hunger Games. Catching Fire. Mockingjay.

Well it took me about 5 to 6 years to read them but here I am, and I am done with all of them, I think I broke my own personal record with this one, I read all three books in two weeks give or take. Maybe you are saying that is not fast but between work and life, it is fast.

I really did not have any intention of reading them anytime soon but for some reason, re-watching The Hunger Games movies made me want to read, I picked them up and started with the first line that I already knew, and then got past it, the weird first-person narrative. And then I couldn’t stop, I knew the whole story but it was an easy read, and it was good to read something as if for the second time; since I really like the movies I didn’t know how I would feel with the books.

I cannot really say which I like best, so I will leave it at: they are both good.

Lord of Shadows Review

I will first give you, the unedited review, this is what I felt and thought when I first finished the book. Be wary, it contains so many spoilers you will have to jump to the end of it, where I said it is good and nothing else, if you do not want to know what happens at the end of the book. You have been warned.

Shadowhunters Season 2 (Part 2)

The Iron Sisters. Also “Bound by Blood” and “By the Light of Dawn”

6 – 10

Alright, we are gathered here once more to talk about what we love… I assume you love it if you are reading this, so thank you for reading.

I should have posted this long ago, I know but the new episode is right around the corner (June 5, in case you did not know, along with the new season of Stitchers *smiling*), and I felt it my duty to fill in some blanks for all to know and be on the lookout for what should be happening next in the show. Now or never was the time.

Lady Midnight

Do I need to say is by Cassandra Clare? You probably already know that, but there I said it. Now, I might have to warn you that this review: could contain some minor spoilers, that I might talk a lot about Julian Blackthorn, and that I freaking loved it! Even more so than the other 10, I was as surprised as anyone else, because I love TMI and Clockwork Princess became one of my favorite books, but Lady Midnight was just too F**king Awesome!

And I know you will enter my chaotic thought process… thank you for being here. What you are about to read has some minor spoilers and it was written during and shortly after I read LM.

The Infernal Devices: Review and Thoughts

Author: Cassandra Clare

Genres: Fantasy. Drama. Young Adult. Steampunk.

I’ll try to make this quick…

I tend to say that but considering that I have to talk about Jem, Will and Tessa that might not be entirely true this time… oh! And Gideon as well as Gabriel and Cecily but the latter two will not be that much in my ramblings.

What to say that has not been said before? I know, lots of things! Because never in my wildest dreams (cue in Taylor Swift’s song in the background if you want) would have I imagined that Cassandra could surprise me or make me love even more characters from the Shadow World, Jem is almost certainly perfect, Tess can be a little bit annoying but by book 3 you wanted to be like her or have her luck, that was when you were not crying over the events in that book, as for Will Herondale… what can I say? You might have thought he was just like Jace but in the end he really wasn’t, not entirely.

But that is enough for the overview, I will give you a bit of what I thought as I was reading Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess, since Clockwork Angel is pretty much done in that link you just overlooked. I do not think that there is much spoilers here but if you are like me and do not like to know a thing a book before reading it, then do not continue, just know this: They Are Great.
