Male characters in books 2.0

Alright so here’s the problem when you are a booklover, bookworm, bookfanatic, whatever you want to call it… you end up having a lot of boys and sometimes girls in your life; because the more you read, the more you have characters to add to a never-ending list of fictional characters to love from many books in different genres.

A long time ago, there was this post I wrote about Favourite Books and Characters and it was good and all, but you see since then there have been so many other books and hence many main characters that have come to my attention, which I can’t put here because it will be the longest list…. Well not the longest that would be in like in a year or more from now when I read even more and have other amazing characters to talk about.

But going back to the present, and why I am rambling here today… I thought it will be nice to have a little reminder of some of the characters so far; you might not agree, you might think that I am wrong or crazy but it is my list after all and perhaps you will discover we have similar taste in books.

List of Favourite Male Characters

  1. Kirtash (Memorias de Idhún – Laura G.G)
  2. Julian Blackthorn (The Dark Artifices – Cassandra Clare)
  3. Patch Cipriano (Hush Hush – Becca Fitzpatrick)
  4. Magnus Bane (The Mortal Instruments – Cassandra C.)
  5. Daemon Black (Lux Series – Jennifer A.)
  6. Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries – L.J. Smith)
  7. Christoff Langford (Drákon Series – Shana Abé)
  8. Stefan Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries)
  9. Jesse (The Sweetest Dark)
  10. Luc (The Darkest Star)
  11. Four (Divergent – Veronica Roth)
  12. Sandu (Drákon Series)
  13. Adam Wilde (if i stay)
  14. Jace –depending what book you’re reading– (The Mortal Instruments)
  15. Jon Snow (A Song of Ice and Fire)
  16. Henry DeTamble (The Time Traveler’s Wife – Audrey N.)
  17. Travis Maddox (Beautiful Disaster – Jamie M.)
  18. Alec Lightwood (The Mortal Instruments)
  19. Zane (Drákon Series)
  20. Jem and Will (The Infernal Devices)
  21. Khal Drogo (A Song of Ice and Fire)
  22. Noah (Take Me Tomorrow – Shannon T.)
  23. Edward Cullen (Twilight)
  24. Jamie Lannister (A Song of Ice and Fire)
  25. Christian Grey (50 Shades of Grey) *
  26. Harry Potter (More of a teenage years crush but still).

It has been numbered but it doesn’t mean that is the order except for the top 5 or top 6, they are there because they deserve to be at the top of my list always and forever. Notice that Jem and Will from The Infernal Devices are together? Not a coincidence and everyone who has read the books know that you cannot love one without loving the other. Just ask Tessa.

And so from Kirtash, who I know most people know nothing about since it is from a Spanish book but if you read it, you would fall in love fast, we then go to Patch, who made me fell for him within minutes of reading Hush Hush and then he proceeded to hold me hostage and make me read all the books in a cloud and one after the other without stopping… and Magnus Bane, do I really need to say anything else? You only have to speak his name and people will know why, he is one of best characters I have read about and Cassie Clare 🙂 truly outdid herself with him.

(*) Let me take a sec here to talk about Christian Grey, who I believe is a basket case or at least he was all his life until he met Anastasia, he is on the list only because he had certain good moments in the books but his background story is completely mental, and I didn’t care much for it. Now, carrying on.

Lux… Daemon… I will always thank Jennifer Armentrout for creating Daemon, I have no other words. The other Damon, Salvatore that is… the one from The Vampire Diaries, which are the underdog of books in my opinion and since the disastrous series which is barely based in the books, then everyone watch it and I am “My Lord! How’s that even possible?” If people read the books I doubt they would continue to watch the series, I am sorry for the fans of the show but that it is my most humble opinion and it has nothing to do with the choice in actors (well, almost nothing: the main character should be a blond girl with blue eyes) because I love Ian! But the rest is just crazy and I stopped watching a long time ago.

And I should stop talking now but I cannot until I say, that if you haven’t read the Drákon Series than you need to do so straightaway, these are by far one of the best books I have ever read in my life, since the first time I held HP 🙂 in my hands and started reading for good and fell in love with books, these books should be known by many, Shana Abé is a freaking genius and I love how she writes and snare you into the Drákon World. Oh, and yes I love Christoff from The Smoke Thief book one in this saga.

If you came this far and you are reading this, than thank you for sticking around, I really appreciate it. I hope you return for more and look around for books to add to your list of to-read.

Like and share if you want, please! Thank you! 🙂

September 2016 Update

This needed one little update, and it was to add Julian Blackthorn to the top of the list, and he had replaced Patch, sorry, Patch. But after finishing Lady Midnight, I was literally in-love with Julian and cannot stop thinking about him ever since, so that’s that. Also Kieran, Ty, and Mark have a special place in my heart, Kieran just because he seems freaking cool, and these other two Blackthorn boys because they are so beautifully amazing, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about if you read the book. As for Julian, again me? Yes! He is just too wonderful, I cannot help myself but to be completely, utterly and catastrophically in love with him.

2019 Update

Don’t think for one second that Mr Darcy is not the most wonderful being and he is not here, because I don’t like on the contrary he is the main one and forever will be, it is just that I did not see the point and mentioning it and not give the rest a fair chance. Also, all I have to do was read The Darkest Star but one time and fell for Luc immediately.
