TBT: The Hunger Games [THG Book 1]

“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.”

Hello, dearies!

Happy Hunger Games!

That’s not it, I mean, hello, it’s been a while, and welcome to a new Throwback Thursday!

Have you read The Hunger Games trilogy? Or book 1: The Hunger Games?

It can be confusing when talking about it.

I have read it but one time, and it was enough for me. I did like it, of course, and I was surprised because I first hadn’t wanted to read because of how Katniss says things, her POV and voice were a bit strange for me at first.

But I got used to it.

I have a full review for all three books in the trilogy here on the blog. But, today is the Throwback Thursday of THG because it’s been so long since I read this book, and because I felt like rambling a bit about it.

Book Challenge: The Timeline Book Quest

“The consequences of our actions are always so complicated, so diverse, that predicting the future is a very difficult business indeed.”

Hello, dearies! 🍁

Here we are with a new challenge, at this point I should make a blog page solely for the book challenges, I have quite a few now. Should I?

Why not? 😆

shouldn't i keep it

Anyway, you can check out the new page of the blog with all book challenges listed on here: Book Challenges.

Created and inspired by this post.

Maybe I should I explain what this book challenge is about, I have rambled on enough. The Timeline Book Quest is about the books I have read and their years of publication or rather a list of years and checking if I read a book from that year. Let’s check it out.

Book Challenge: Jumping Genres in 10 Books

Which genre of book is your favourite? For me? It varies.

Hello, dearies! 🍂

Welcome to the blog and another random list of books that I have on my TBR and have not read yet because you know… life.

I have decided to go with Genres as there are various ones that I have picked up or added to my reading list over the years. I am, most of the times, am avid fantasy reader as many of you might know, it is what I live for, it is my favourite, anything can happen there and I also love writing in this genre, but it is not the only one, and of course there are many other types of genres from mystery to romance to plain old fiction that I have read and enjoyed.

So, that is why if I read a description or see a book cover that looks interesting, I added to my endless TBR and here are 10 different types of books that jump genres… mind you, some might have similar genres, but here we go.

THG: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Movie

Oh dear… get ready for this one. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Movie is in theaters now.

Here we go…

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Hello, dearies! 🐍

I didn’t think my expectations were high, but they kind of were, I suppose.

Today, I watched The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. And you might remember what I thought of this prequel, and how it was not a 5-star for me.

I’m not going to talk about the acting, or the choices in casting. I gave up on that long ago.

But as a reader, I understood what was happening, but my sis went with me, and after the 10th Hunger Games, she had no idea what was happening 🤔 or where the transition was, it was confusing.

Friday Flashback: Insurgent

“We both have war inside us. Sometimes it keeps us alive. Sometimes it threatens to destroy us.”

Hello, dearies! 💖

The first time I read Insurgent, it was during the rush of dystopia and just after reading Divergent (or close), and they both made me realise how much I liked Dystopia.

I discovered that this world in the future where everything went to hell was fascinating.

Q & A with Shannon Thompson

Author of Take Me Tomorrow

Special Edition of Books Everywhere (@EachPage)

Hello, everyone. Today I bring to you a special post with a Q&A about Take Me Tomorrow and plus some interesting details about its author, awesome Shannon Thompson, who was nice enough to respond to my ramblings about the book, which if you haven’t read please go here and found out more, or read the review I made couple of days ago: Take Me Tomorrow Review. If you haven’t read the book, I strongly recommend that you do not read the upcoming lines because it may contain some spoiler. That’s it, let us start.

Q&A Take Me Tomorrow

  • Q: I am sure you’ve been asked this but, is there going to be a sequel?

Author: There is a sequel – Take Me Yesterday – as well as a third novel – Take Me Now – written, but neither have guaranteed contracts to be published. Sharing the novel around by reviewing it helps out a lot!

  • Q: Tell me, what inspired you to write about Take Me Tomorrow?

Author: Long story short, my mother was a drug addict, and she died from her addiction when I was eleven years old. Through coping, I spent a lot of time researching about drugs, drug use, drug abuse, and more. Take Me Tomorrow was born. If you want the long story, I wrote more about this on my website: Why I Write About Immigration, Drugs, and Addiction

I encourage you to visit the link and learn more.

Take Me Tomorrow

Author: Shannon Thompson

“Tomorrow can take me.” Truest words spoken and we knew it was going to be good.

Take Me Tomorrow a truly different twist in the dystopian genre.

Let it be known, I am not encouraging drug use because we all know that’s bad for your health, but wouldn’t we want to take a pill that would show you the future? Or at the very least, a glimpse of it?

Divergent: Book Review

“We both have war inside us. Sometimes it keeps us alive. Sometimes it threatens to destroy us.”
Insurgent

Divergent Trilogy

Yay!

Author: Veronica Roth.

One of the Best Dystopian I know. So far, it has been one of the best in every genre I have read since I started reading many moons ago with the Harry Potter Series (which you’ll notice how much I love in weeks to come). Back to Divergent, of course, I will not make any spoilers, I loathe spoilers so I won’t have that and if I do, I will tell you before you read a review; now the love I have for Four is weird, he is not The Character for me but he is amazing and in my mind’s eye quite gorgeous and hot, if I wore in a new place he would definitely be the guy I would go to for a tour LOL.

Here’s a quick overview of the books.
