Friday Flashback: The Chamber of Secrets

“A rift began to grow between Slytherin and the others. Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts.”

Welcome, dearies! 🍁

Another Friday, another Flashback, this one for Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, book 2 of the Wizarding Saga.

To go along with the newest episode of the podcast: Ep. 2 of Season 3 of EachPage Flow, I decided to go back to The Chamber of Secrets, but there were two things I didn’t say on the podcast because they skipped my mind as I was rambling about the book.

Sorry, there is a lot on my mind.

You can check out the full episode below, I put it here because I’m nice like that. 🙂

So, the dueling club at Hogwarts started by Lockhart, and the introduction to the word ‘mudblood’ or how pure-blooded families see those born of Muggles but with the gift of magic like: Hermione Granger. These are the two things that I later thought, oh wait, I missed something.

Alright, first dueling.

Friday Flashback: Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices)

“Let me give you a piece of advice. The handsome young fellow who’s trying to rescue you from a hideous fate is never wrong. Not even if he says the sky is purple and made of hedgehogs.”

Wow, that took me back, just thinking about it for a second.

Hello, dearies! 🩷

Did you know I am Shadowhunter fan? No? Really? You must know, surely.

Anywho… Clockwork Angel, another one from the Shadow World that I started reading, put down, picked it up again, thought about about what it was about, tried hard to get into what was happening in those first pages, and then when I got it a bit, I started reading full-steam ahead. It was like the world opened up and dropped me in London.

Too much?

Friday Flashback: The Neverending Story

“People who have no hopes are easy to control; and whoever has the control has the power.”

Woah! I went back a lot with this one. 📺

I rewatched this movie (The NeverEnding Story) countless time when I was a kid, could be one of the first fantasy ones that got to me.

It has everything…

But did you know that this is a book adaptation? Yes! It is for a 1979 novel, called The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, and it is German. 📖

Friday Flashback: The Black Cat

The short story of “The Black Cat” delves into themes of guilt and perversity. The narrator, tormented by mistreatment of his black cat and domestic violence, becomes consumed by paranoia and madness. His efforts to hide a crime result in his own downfall.

To be honest… I don’t remember when I read this or if I found it interesting, I know that I did read it and I had a book of short stories of Edgar Allan Poe, but I have moved a lot and my books are spread around various homes. I miss my books.

Anyway, let’s go read the description and perhaps some highlights from this story.

Author: Edgar Allan Poe

Genres: Classics, Horror, Short Stories, Fiction, Gothic, Mystery

Friday Flashback: Kuroko no Basuke – Anime

Have you watched Kuroko’s Basket or Kuroko No Basuke? I have and I would recommend to watch a second time, so today’s Friday Flashback will be dedicated to this Sports Anime.

Genre: Sports, Shonen, Young Adult

Manga by: Tadatoshi Fujimaki

Anime by: Shunsuke Tada

Basketball Team: Seirin High (誠凛高校, Seirin Kōkō

Hello, dearies! ⛹️ I realised recently that I don’t have one for Kuroko no Basuke, which is odd since I really liked this one.

Have you ever heard of or watched this anime? I hadn’t until Crunchyroll and Netflix put it in my face as recommendation because I had watched… I have no idea what. Honestly, I don’t why the algorithm thought it would be good for me to watch, perhaps because I watched Dragon Ball? That could be it.

Anyway, I watched and liked it a lot. It’s fun, more so if you like High School, School Life, and Basketball. And Seinen then you definitely can watch this one.

A Storm of Swords: Flashback

“Old stories are like old friends, she used to say. You have to visit them from time to time.”

Author: George RR Martin

Genres: Fiction, Fantasy,

Series: A Song of Ice and Fire Book #3

Friday Flashback (Flashback Friday)

I had some confusion going with this one and A Clash of Kings. Don’t know why, don’t how that happened. Perhaps because I read all three books in a row. A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and this one A Storm of Swords.

Friday Flashback: Fruits Basket (2001)

Prepare for some serious ranting.

Fruits Basket (Anime 2001)

Where can I watch it? On Crunchyroll.

Hello, dearies! 🐾

I recently, barely, finished watching Fruits Basket’s original anime (or I would say the crazy 2001 version).

This anime makes no sense.

I’ll jump right into this one. Expect some rambling ahead, and some spoilers if you don’t know about Fruits Basket.

Friday Flashback: Insurgent

“We both have war inside us. Sometimes it keeps us alive. Sometimes it threatens to destroy us.”

Hello, dearies! 💖

The first time I read Insurgent, it was during the rush of dystopia and just after reading Divergent (or close), and they both made me realise how much I liked Dystopia.

I discovered that this world in the future where everything went to hell was fascinating.

Series: A Song of Ice and Fire #1

Hello, dearies! 👑

I realized that I don’t have a proper post for A Song of Ice and Fire Book 1, aka, A Game of Thrones.

Of course, I have my very special A Song of Ice and Fire page and a book review for A Dance with Dragons. But the other books I read all in one go and so fast, and so, not putting down this book type of way that well, it all kind of blended together, and then I watched Game of Thrones, so that didn’t help matters. It all just cooled down.
