Happy Valentine’s Day, dearies!
I’ll add a couple of female leads this time because I feel like I have more to name now then other years when I did similar lists.
So, we have a variety in 2026. And I’ll start with the girls from Shadowhunters because they are my favourite characters by far.
Emma Carstairs
The Dark Artifices. Even at 12 years old she was already badass, and then came TDA trilogy and I was hooked for good.
Izzy Lightwood
The Mortal Instruments. Well, from the start Izzy was my favourite and as the story progressed she only grew in my eyes.
Tessa Gray
The Infernal Devices. Tessa is badass when she wants to. And not just because she is the get two guys for one girl, she has power (abilities) and knows how to use it. 😄
Alice Cullen
Twilight. Do I need to say more? Alice is probably one of the best characters in the whole Twilight Saga, no comparison needed.
Rue
I decided to create my own book fanart for Rue. This is from one of the first scenes of the book before we learnt more about her, but soon after wow, she is strong, charismatic, and witty. I like that in a lead. 🙂

Carswell Thorne
I added Thorne, The Lunar Chronicles (Cress), because I think he was a bit underrated and passed over, sure, if you read Cress and onwards, you get to see more of him, but otherwise, he kind of hangs out in the back and made me laugh at times.
Magnus Bane
Magnus is more of a fun crush, I like his personality in all Shadowhunter novels, and so, I look forward to reading any of the books and see if he is in the scene.
Jamie Fraser
Need I say more?
If you’re an Outlander fan (the TV show) then you probably should read the first three books, and you will see why Jamie is on the list.
Loren
I thought that I had a regular moment of liking a book, years ago, when I first read Kissed by a Dark Prince, but it turns out I do like these books and Loren is who started it all.
Vail
I didn’t realise how much I enjoyed this book: Tempted by a Rogue Prince until I found myself re-reading it multiple times. And it was because of Rosalind.
Jem Carstairs
(And Will Herondale, too). If you name Jem from The Infernal Devices pov then you have to say Will, too. They are a package deal.
Damon Salvatore
If you saw a trend in characters in this list, of dangerous, tall, and fantasy-heavy, it’s because most of it started with Damon from The Vampire Diaries.
