10 Years

“Don’t settle for what life gives you; make life better and build something.”

Wait what? It’s been 10 years since I decided to start blogging and rambling about books online?

It seems that’s the case.

10 Years ago, I chose a name and decided to put my thoughts out there in the world, and you know what happened? Nothing, I continued to do it just because it’s fun, and I love sharing books.

Fathers in Books

Happy Father’s Day!

Hello, dearies! 👨‍🍼

I didn’t do a Mom’s in Books because I was a bit off that month. But here is a Father’s Day special because why not…

What’s the first book you recall reading and seeing a super dad in it?

I can’t remember, but James Potter comes to mind, as well as father figures like Sirius Black, and a father that couldn’t be one, Remus Lupin, man that took a turn into sad.

Friday Flashback: Charmed

‘Just because I protect the innocent doesn’t mean I have to be innocent all of the time.’ Phoebe Halliwell

I should have known this would be coming. But I didn’t.

Hello, dearies! This is Sela! 😎

I haven’t started a post like that in… hold on, I don’t think I ever started one of my posts like that, but here we are. That is in case you didn’t know my name already.

Anyway, welcome to a new Friday Flashback, featuring one of my favourite TV shows of all time: Charmed.

The story of three sister witches, and then three half-sisters witches who fight evil because that’s apparently their destiny, but all they want is a normal life since that’s something that most witches and other supernatural have in common, while we the mortals, want nothing but the unconventional and magical life. 🪄

Oh my…

아, 진지하… (Seriously)

Hello, dearies! 📺

Honestly, I went from oh, my… to, seriously? 👀

I didn’t know before jumping into Memories of the Alahambra that it ended on basically a cliffhanger, and that was it. So, I’m telling you straight up so you know when you start watching it.

A Day with a Soul from the Past

Who would you bring from the past and what would you show them?

Hello, dearies!

I was recently asked who would I bring back for a day, if I had 24 hours, who would I bring back, and what would I do with them or what would I show them.

Now, I thought this would take me forever to think through, but surprisingly, it came to me very fast, Jane Austen, I mean, getting to know her and showing her how writing has evolved since her time? I think that’d be cool. 👀

Friday Flashback: The Dragon Prince Season 3

‘Careful. If you tell the truth, you will lose her; you will need her soon.’

Where? Netflix

What is it about? Not all about dragons, no.

Genres? Fantasy, Magic, Elves, Dragons, Humans.

Hello, dearies! 🐲

This one is not really a throwback for me because I “recently” re-watched the whole show up until season 4, which I think is awesome, and that The Dragon Prince just keeps getting better and better, but I’ll stay focused and restrict this one to Season 3 because I realised I didn’t have an entry for it.

I don’t have one for season 1 either, but that can be another week.

The Dragon Prince season 3, what happened on this one? Should I go with some spoilers? I don’t think I can talk about it much without some, so if you haven’t watched it yet, then don’t read, and if you are here for all the details on this season, I’ll only give a few, so enjoy those.

Happy New Year, dearies! 🎆❄🎇

Here’s this one in case you missed some good ones.

It was not easy to pick one post for each month, so I didn’t and instead, I’ll talk about what happened during the year.

The Final Girl Support Group

A mystery? Yes, it sort of was, but was it horror? Not really. This book dives into the mind of a Final Girl, literally. But that’s just one opinion.

3⭐

Author: Grady Hendrix

Genre: Horror, Thriller, Fiction, Mystery

Well, I have my doubts about the horror tag or thriller, it’s more Mystery and Drama than anything else.

Hello, dearies! 📽

This one it’s more like a movie than a book, and you find yourself thinking about all the horror movies you watched in the past, and trying to pair those with the characters in the book rather than paying attention to the storyline.

Where? Crunchyroll but only in English for now.

Kon’nichiwa, dearies! ⭐️

I haven’t enjoyed an Anime in a while, but this one had me glued to the screen, and the best was that the second season had just aired this year, so I got to see both in one go, problem now is that I’ll have to wait for season 3. Or I can read the Light Novel and not wait for that, so I bought the first one, it’s waiting on my Kindle.

After saying that, let’s recap on Classroom of the Elite, an anime that makes you doubt everyone and start saying, repeatedly, don’t trust them.

The Nothing Man: Review?

“Fiction only really worked if it was built like a lattice through which you were repeatedly offered glimpses of absolute truth.”

Author: Catherine Ryan Howard

Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Adult, Suspense

Hello, dearies! 📝

Here’s another I wouldn’t have picked up from a shelf on a trip to the bookstore, yet I read it.

The Nothing Man is one of those books that didn’t have my full attention until about sixty per cent of it was already behind me.

I could have left it on the side, I could have stopped reading long before that half mark, but I pushed on, and I am sorry for those who are fans, but it didn’t amount to much at the end.
