Wuthering Heights: As readers we expect this from it

Welcome to another rant.

Now, I have not watched the new Wuthering Heights movies, with Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw, and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. But? I have seen some scenes and trailers.

As a reader, who liked this book, I do hope to go to the theater and some of this in there:

Moments in Quotes from Wuthering Heights

Be prepared for some spoilers, nearly without context, if you have not read the book.

Well, if this manner of despair is in the movie, then they did a good one; if not? It did not do justice to the book.

The Magician’s Nephew [Book Review]

That’s right I had never read The Chronicles of Narnia or any book by this author. But I decided this year that it was time, it had gone long enough, and frankly, I opened the book and started reading without giving it too much thought.

And that was eye-opening for me. But first let me tell my first impressions of reading The Magician’s Nephew, which was not what I was expecting in many ways.

Today is one that I finished last month (I think). Dune, this was a long read, such a very long read, but I got through it! 👏🥳Good for me!

So, Dune, have you watched the new Dune movie with handsome Timothy Chamlet? I have, of course, about 3 times by now, might watch it again before the second part releases next year. But that’s not why we are here, and no, I haven’t watched the other Dune movie. 1984?

TBT: The Secret Adversary

I can’t remember when I read this book, maybe over ten years ago or more, but I do remember this, I liked and thought it was cool to get into suspense and think, oh what’s happening, uuh what’s that?

It was nice. But The Secret Adversary is about looking for clues, following up people, and finding them.

And Then There Were None: Quick View

Genre: Classics, Fiction, Crime, Thriller, Mystery Thriller, Mystery

First time I read this one was like fifteen years ago, and yes, this is a classic mystery that I would recommend, and that sucks you in, unlike other mystery or thrillers I have read where there is not much to it.

I don’t mean to be so dismissive of new stories, but some of those books leave me with a sense of: meh. I cannot help. Even if I do have a section on Mystery/Thriller here on the blog because I recently read more books in that genre than I ever did in the past.

Anyway, going back to And Then There Were None, which even for my young mind, it was quite good and left me wondering about it for a few days. I don’t remember the whole meat in the middle of it, but I know that I liked it.
