Weekly Flashback – Page 2

Drums of Autumn: TBT

“But a man is not forgotten, as long as there are two people left under the sky. One, to tell the story; the other, to hear it.”

Author: Diana Galbadon

Genre: Fantasy, Time travel, Romance

Series: Outlander (Book #4)

OMG! It’s July already!😲 Almost August! 🥲

Hard to believe but half the year already, I need two months back.

Anyway, have you read the Outlander books? I read up to this book, which is book 4, then started book 5, and… I stopped without meaning to, I really should go back to it.

But today’s throwback is about Drums of Autumn, which is book 4 and it introduces so many characters in a deeper way.

Brianna. Roger. John.

Back in DoA, It’s life in the past but what I liked about it was Brianna’s journey. Alright, that’s spoilers if you haven’t read any of the books and you have no idea who anyone is other than Jaime and Claire from the show, and that if you only watched season 1, which is book 1 (Outlander). I don’t blame you if that’s all you watched though, it was a good season and a great start, but there’s more to it.

Friday Flashback: The Black Cat

The short story of “The Black Cat” delves into themes of guilt and perversity. The narrator, tormented by mistreatment of his black cat and domestic violence, becomes consumed by paranoia and madness. His efforts to hide a crime result in his own downfall.

To be honest… I don’t remember when I read this or if I found it interesting, I know that I did read it and I had a book of short stories of Edgar Allan Poe, but I have moved a lot and my books are spread around various homes. I miss my books.

Anyway, let’s go read the description and perhaps some highlights from this story.

2014 Reads

So, what was on the TBR back in 2014? I can barely recall what I read last year, but let’s give it a go! 😊🩷

Wow! 2014, ten years ago? You’re joking…

It’s still 2021 for me. 😆

What books were out in 2014? I can’t even remember, I was probably reading a Shadowhunters book, I think I started around that time.

This one acts as a Flashback Friday too since we’re remembering all of these books. 😊

Also, fun fact, 2014 was the Year of The Horse. 🐎

And, of course, don’t forget to check out 2009 Reads and 2011 Reads.

Flashback: Songs inspired by GOT and ASOIAF

Are we still waiting for new GOT books? Yes. So what to do while we wait? Let’s check out some tunes that were inspired by GOT and ASOIAF. It’s the least we can do.

Hi, dearies! 🎧

I suppose you have seen or rather heard some songs that remind you of Game of Thrones, and did you think, hey, was this song written or inspired by GOT? I sure did a couple of times.

This post will also act as a Friday Flashback because well, it is Game of Thrones we are talking about after all. And A Song of Ice and Fire, which is not over yet but let’s face it, we have been waiting forever to read the sequel to A Dance with Dragons.

Friday Flashback: Kuroko no Basuke – Anime

Have you watched Kuroko’s Basket or Kuroko No Basuke? I have and I would recommend to watch a second time, so today’s Friday Flashback will be dedicated to this Sports Anime.

Title: Kuroko’s Basketball (黒子のバスケ, Hepburn: Kuroko no Basuke)

Genre: Sports, Shonen, Young Adult

Manga by: Tadatoshi Fujimaki

Anime by: Shunsuke Tada

Basketball Team: Seirin High (誠凛高校, Seirin Kōkō)

Podcast: EachPage Flow Ep. 32 – Anime Chat

Hello, dearies! ⛹️ I realised recently that I don’t have one for Kuroko no Basuke, which is odd since I really liked this one.

Have you ever heard of or watched this anime? I hadn’t until Crunchyroll and Netflix put it in my face as recommendation because I had watched… I have no idea what. Honestly, I don’t why the algorithm thought it would be good for me to watch, perhaps because I watched Dragon Ball? That could be it.

Anyway, I watched and liked it a lot. It’s fun, more so if you like High School, School Life, and Basketball. And Seinen then you definitely can watch this one.

TBT: Kissed by a Dark Prince

“Olivia thinks it’s her lucky night when a dangerously handsome unconscious fae ends up on her inspection table. He’s her chance to redeem herself with her employer, the demon-hunting organisation, Archangel. But when the tall, dark and deadly immortal warrior awakes, she gets much more than she bargained for…”

Hello, dearies! 💜

This one acts as a TBT because I had read this one before, but I re-read it again recently and it almost felt like the first time 😄.

I could barely remember what happened on this one, but one thing was clear, I didn’t misremember the fact that I freaking loved this book. I knew there was a reason for me to like Tempted by a Rogue Prince so much (book #3 in this series). It’s all because of the incredibly honest princes here. Wow.

Mystery of Aaravos Season 5: TBT

Welcome, dearies! 🐉

This one is a short but intense one…

Spoilers are ahead so be warned of it if you haven’t watched The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos season 5. 🌟Or Book 5: Ocean.

Or you don’t remember what happened…

A Storm of Swords: Flashback

“Old stories are like old friends, she used to say. You have to visit them from time to time.”

Author: George RR Martin

Genres: Fiction, Fantasy,

Series: A Song of Ice and Fire Book #3

Friday Flashback (Flashback Friday)

I had some confusion going with this one and A Clash of Kings. Don’t know why, don’t how that happened. Perhaps because I read all three books in a row. A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and this one A Storm of Swords.

A Clash of Kings: Flashback

“Valar Morghulis.”

Series: A Song of Ice and Fire

Author: George RR Martin

Genres: Fiction, Drama, Fantasy, Dragons

I’m completely mental. Hello, dearies! 🕶️

Just wanted to say that because I thought for a while that A Storm of Swords was book 2 and not A Clash of Kings, and I was even going to post about book 3 as 2, had the whole thing set up until I went to check the quotes for it.

But as I can barely remember this book, other than Dany going through the world, trying to find a place for her people and following a red comet in the sky and everyone seeing the comet all book long. Since that’s all I remember, I have decided to look up some stuff online about it and related to you here.

Friday Flashback: Fruits Basket (2001)

Prepare for some serious ranting.

Fruits Basket (Anime 2001)

Where can I watch it? On Crunchyroll.

Hello, dearies! 🐾

I recently, barely, finished watching Fruits Basket’s original anime (or I would say the crazy 2001 version).

This anime makes no sense.

I’ll jump right into this one. Expect some rambling ahead, and some spoilers if you don’t know about Fruits Basket.
