Hello, dearies! 🧭
Prepare for some fangirling of epic proportions.
And maybe a bit of rambling too.
The Lost Book of The White takes us forward in time or further (way further) than The Red Scrolls of Magic, which I recommend you first read City of Bones before diving into that one, although it is not necessary.
So, I loved book 2 of The Eldest Curses, does that come across? Sometimes I don’t know if it really does. But I did, and it took me a while to write this one because… life, so my memories are a bit far away.
So, I’ll first leave you with some thoughts while I was reading… it’s short. 👀
Warning, though, there are spoilers ahead! Like, seriously, spoilers.

Reading TLBOTW
Before page 35, you can read on just fine, but after that, you’ll probably need to read the Shadowhunter Academy stories, not all of them, but some, and TMI series, and maybe TID too 😀. There’s a lot that happens in those books and relates to this.

Just had to stop reading to say that Jace arming Clary is the sweetest thing. Like: here, babe, a dagger so you can defend yourself because I know you can.
Aw, I can’t with the cuteness.

Oh please, what cover Tian? I knew you were fishy chapters ago.
Page 257 – LOL
- Page 265
Okay, fine, you are forgiven for double, double crossing, Tian.
Just because you are a Ke.

Alright, that’s it. It was short compared to others I have done. But I was so into the book that I didn’t stop to write down my thoughts that much because I was too busy trying not to scream at the book or ask people to stop talking to me because I was in the middle of an important scene. So good.
It took me back to the Shadowhunters’ world, even more than The Red Scrolls of Magic, which made me want to read part 2, but it was a bit more on the yes, I sort of know what will happen. Even if I have never read it. But The Lost Book of the White was more like City of Heavenly Fire or The Dark Artifices Trilogy, or the short stories on Ghosts of the Shadow Market, they just have that deeper side that does not let go. I’m not saying the first books in the Shadow World aren’t good because they all are, but I suppose it’s also about the characters, or whether you love them more than others.
Magnus and Alec are on a different level from the rest, but so it’s Julian and Emma, Jem, or Tessa. There’s something about them that just made me want to grab a book and stay there without paying attention to the rest of the world.
So, this book, I don’t want to say much because you should experience it fully, though you will see our beloved Shadowhunters from TMI again, be sure of that.
For some reason, this book has 4 stars on Goodreads, I guess it’s not for everyone, and that’s alright. I loved it, but I tend to love all Shadow World books, so you know that’s me and my biased opinion.
That’s it for now, dearies! I hope you stayed to the end and enjoyed another rambling and me talking on and on about Shadowhunters, it’s what I do best. 😎 #SorryNotSorry.
Thank you again, and don’t forget to like, share, comment, follow, and read on to other reviews, it’s all good and valid.
Happy Reading! 🎐
