Hello, dearies! 🍂
Welcome to the blog and another random list of books that I have on my TBR and have not read yet because you know… life.
I have decided to go with Genres as there are various ones that I have picked up or added to my reading list over the years. I am, most of the times, am avid fantasy reader as many of you might know, it is what I live for, it is my favourite, anything can happen there and I also love writing in this genre, but it is not the only one, and of course there are many other types of genres from mystery to romance to plain old fiction that I have read and enjoyed.
So, that is why if I read a description or see a book cover that looks interesting, I added to my endless TBR and here are 10 different types of books that jump genres… mind you, some might have similar genres, but here we go.
Jumping Genres in 10 Books
Mystery

The God of the Woods
I added this one recently to the list, it sounded interesting enough: Early morning, August 1975: a camp counselor discovers an empty bunk. Its occupant, Barbara Van Laar, has gone missing. Barbara isn’t just any thirteen-year-old: she’s the daughter of the family that owns the summer camp and employs most of the region’s residents. And this isn’t the first time a Van Laar child has disappeared. Barbara’s older brother similarly vanished fourteen years ago, never to be found.
Shojo

Dystopia

Ark
This is a short by Veronica Roth (Divergent) and so just by the author I added it to the list. 😆
On the eve of Earth’s destruction, a young scientist discovers something too precious to lose, in a story of cataclysm and hope by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Divergent trilogy.
It’s only two weeks before an asteroid turns home to dust. Though most of Earth has already been evacuated, it’s Samantha’s job to catalog plant samples for the survivors’ unknowable journey beyond.
Mythology

I Am Lilith
Now, I really wanted to read this one quickly, but it now sits on my TBR while I ponder if I really will like it or not… because I started reading it and didn’t pass the first chapter so it is there, watching me.
In a female-ruled society, she’s trapped in an ancient struggle between the sexes. Will she be the spark to restore unity?
Dark

Hooked
I think if you know about retellings, romance, and dark books than you might have crossed paths with this one before.
He wants revenge, but he wants her more…
Horror

What We Harvest
I have no explanation why this one is on my TBR, it simply is…
A novel about an idyllic small town poisoned by its past, and one girl who must fight the strange disease that’s slowly claiming everyone she loves.
Historical Fiction

How to Stop Time
This one is a rather peculiar one for me. The historical ones have to be very special for me to consider them, so it is here for the novelty of what it represents for me.
Unfortunately for Tom, the Albatross Society, the secretive group which protects people like Tom, has one rule: Never fall in love. As painful memories of his past and the erratic behavior of the Society’s watchful leader threaten to derail his new life and romance, the one thing he can’t have just happens to be the one thing that might save him. Tom will have to decide once and for all whether to remain stuck in the past, or finally begin living in the present.
Sports Romance

Vampires

Slaying the Vampire Conqueror
She was commanded to kill him with a single strike to the heart. She didn’t expect her own to betray her.
Sylina has sacrificed everything for her goddess–her soul, her freedom, her eyes. Life in service to the Arachessen, a cult of the Goddess of Fate, has turned Sylina from orphaned street-rat to disciplined killer, determined to overthrow Glaea’s tyrannical king. But when a brutal vampire conqueror arrives on their shores, Sylina faces an even deadlier adversary. She’s tasked with a crucial mission: infiltrate his army, earn his trust… and kill him.
Young Adult

Sea Witch
Another category or genre that I enjoy quite a lot: Young Adult. I don’t care if people want to say that this genre if for a younger audience, I have been reading it since I was a teenager so I will to do so. That rant over, the final book of this genre jumping is one that also has retellings and mermaids, which I love as well.
Everyone knows what happens in the end. A mermaid, a prince, a true love’s kiss. But before that young siren’s tale, there were three friends. One feared, one royal, and one already dead.
Ever since her best friend, Anna, drowned, Evie has been an outcast in her small fishing town. A freak. A curse. A witch.
And that is it, we have reached the end of this book challenge jumping from genre to genre, have you read any of these books? Are there any that you have in your TBR since forever? Because some here sure had been for a while on the list, and I know I will read them at some point. It will happen, I have faith in myself. Lol.
Anyways, that’s it, hope you enjoyed this fun book challenge and they you will share your own list, too, if you do, please tag me on the post so I can check it out. I’d love to see what books you have on the list.
Thank you, dearies! Enjoy your next read! ❤️📚
