The Idhun Chronicles: About the Music of Chris Tara

Hello, dearies! 🎶

You know my obsession (love for books) with Idhún is real, so here we are once more… the music in the book is enticing and powerful.

This post is full of spoilers if you haven’t read the books or don’t know about the story. 📚🩷

Music in Idhun

Chris Tara is the alter ego of Kirtash, the one he created while he spent some time on Earth, his human side made him want to express himself through this art. And boy, did he express it all. He was famous and Victoria (our lead female) was of course lured by his music without knowing that it was the assassin from another world (Idhún) that was singing, who had so much to say that related to her. Or rather his songs called out to her. 😻

The two main ones that we devoured were these songs: Cold and Beyond.

Cold goes like this

you can feel love, anger or pain
but emotion flames won’t light
in a kingdom of ice
in the heart of a snake.

It was obviously about all that he was before he utterly changed or faced what could be if he let in other feelings.

The other song is a bit more mellow? (Or rather Seeking) and the spoilers are beyond (pun intended) on this song. Actually is a bit more of an escape, or being free. I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Reading it all again, it makes me want to read the books once more from beginning to end without stopping. Cold was featured mostly on Pantheon (Book 3) while Beyond we discovered on The Resistance as Victoria found out who Chris Tara was and well, all hell broke loose because she felt deceived by Kirtash as she had no clue it was him. The whole time his identity hadn’t been revealed, there were no concerts or press conference for this mysterious artist just his music, which is really something to admire from the book. The only concert was one of the climaxes of the story and it opened up a whole new world for us (the readers).

Now, there is another song that’s called: Why You? But that one is spoilers and we read about it on book 2 (Triad), I thought it was at the beginning of book 3, but I confirmed today (had to look at all the books) it was on the second one, and that it’s the romantic one (ballad) that makes you smile, be sad, be in love, it’s great. But it’s spoilers and I don’t want to ruin it completely, but if you want me to add some of the lyrics here, let me know, and I’ll make it work.

In any case, that’s all for this one I hope you enjoyed knowing more about The Idhun Chronicles, which are my favourite book trilogy, if you didn’t notice, it is. I love it, I have loved it for years and I lost count of how many times I re-read the books.
