Emma Carstairs

Who is Emma Carstairs? I hope this answers your question… she is awesome and she is a Shadowhunter.

emma carstairs, is she a good character?

And I thought that Izzy Lightwood was a badass, Emma took the prize and made me rethink it all.

When I first read Lady Midnight, I was not expecting to find such a wonderfully created character as Emma.

Before that, when I read City of Heavenly Fire, I don’t think I paid much attention, Emma was there and she was cool but I was focused on the Blackthorns. But then came the trilogy that changed all of that. I still love the Blackthorns, don’t get me wrong but Emma Carstairs is just a big part of it as well…

I don’t think I can write this without spoilers so I’ll just go.

This is the warning, there might be spoilers ahead if you haven’t read these books at all and you have no clue who Emma is, she’s the blond girl who was with the Blackthorns during the Dark War. That was the warning. โš ๏ธ

About Emma Carstairs

As I said, I liked her before but in this trilogy since Midnight Lady started, going through Lord of Shadows ๐Ÿ’™, and up to Queen of Air and Darkness ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’˜ it was a freaking show of awesome with her (Emma).

She really is a Warrior and I love the character arc so much.

Alright, some backstory.

Full Name: Emma Cordelia Carstairs

Born: 1995

Parents: John and Cordelia

Family: Carstairs

Parabatai: Julian Blackthorn

When Lady Midnight starts we meet a now fierce Shadowhunter 17 year old Emma Carstairs, living with the Blackthorns in the L.A Institute, not only this but she has boyfriends, goes around living her best Shadowhunter life, and you just want her to turn around and realise that Julian is there… is so frustrating. Okay, I got carried away there for a moment.

This is not about Julian Blackthorn ๐Ÿฉท (who is one of my top 5 Shadowhunter to Love). *infatuated sigh*.

Anyway, Emma, tries to discover more about her life, her family, how her parents really died as she had been told that it had been during the Dark War. And during the whole book you follow her eagerly and it only keeps getting better.

This doesn’t have as much spoilers as I thought it would, but only because I don’t want to say, I think that one of the best ways of enjoying The Dark Artifices is by going in without knowing a thing and be amazed by how incredibly awesome this trilogy turned out to be, it’s off the charts for me. Out of all the Shadowhunters novels, this one made me cry the most, laugh, scream at the book, have the biggest book hangover. It was great! ๐Ÿ˜ป

Again, carried away. Back to Emma, she is really something and I loved how badass she was, I keep going back to that, but it’s something to admire because not all main female leads are that strong as she is, so I have to praise her.

That’s all, every now and then I love remembering the good, awesome book characters that live rent free in my mind. ๐Ÿ˜„ So this one was for Emma C. Carstairs who honestly gives life to this trilogy along with all of the other characters, there’s no one character that it’s not a vital part in The Dark Artifices.

If you also love Emma or the Shadowhunters novels do not hesitate to comment, like, and share this one.

Thank you for reading, dearies! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒธ
