Hello, dearies! 👑
I realized that I don’t have a proper post for A Song of Ice and Fire Book 1, aka, A Game of Thrones.
Of course, I have my very special A Song of Ice and Fire page and a book review for A Dance with Dragons. But the other books I read all in one go and so fast, and so, not putting down this book type of way that well, it all kind of blended together, and then I watched Game of Thrones, so that didn’t help matters. It all just cooled down.
But here we are, a new Friday, a new Flashback.
A Game of Thrones, is the type of book that will get you hooked on a series so perfectly that it’s something to admire, you meet all these characters, fall in love with them, then they start dropping like flies, but then you just keep reading the book and finally, you finish it and the sky fills with the music of dragons once more, and well, then it’s full steam ahead, you have to know what happens with the dragons, it’s why we’re here. At least, that’s how they got me. Mostly.
The Targaryens, even when they were basically instincts fascinated me and were and would always be my house, I don’t care about haters.
But in this book, of course, you follow the story of Dany, alone across the narrow sea, but in the seven kingdoms people are playing the game of thrones, and you don’t if you think the Lannisters are a bunch of crazies, if the Starks are too noble (dumb *cough*), or if you should just wait and see who else will catch your attention. This is how I felt when I first read A Game of Thrones.
But the second time, I didn’t read all of it, just Dany’s scenes because I wanted to remember how she was portrayed and how far it went from the show because it did. Further down the line, they did what they wanted on the GOT show, and until I read The Winds of Winter and I’m proven wrong, that’s what I am going to think.
However, you can read A Game of Thrones and then watch season 1 of Game of Thrones, and you will find it pretty much the same, it’s after that the problems start.
Rambling, I know. Or ranting, rather. So, I’ll stop, and let’s finish here. I liked A Game of Thrones a lot, it was an interesting read and all the elements of fantasy were there, it might seem long for some people, but it’s worth it.
That’s it for this Friday Flashback, dearies. I hope you enjoyed it and that you’ll come back for more. Don’t forget to subscribe, share, like, comment, all of it. It’s greatly appreciated.
Happy reading! 🐉
