Flashback: Downton Abbey (TV)

downton abbey

Happy Friday, dearies! ❤

Another week has gone by, and here we are with a new Flashback, this time for this amazing show that I do not get tired of re-watching.

Downton Abbey. Haven’t done a Flashback Friday in a while, so it deserves to be an incredible one, and I think I chose a good story and show. There are movies, yes, but this one is about the TV Show that aired from 26 September 2010 – 25 December 2015 on ITV. 📺

I love re-watching, and binge-watching DA, and the first season is my favourite I admit it.

The greatest thing about Downton is that, if you love period stories, then you’ll get totally sucked into this one, you want to know more about what happens upstairs and downstairs, all characters can get you to be on the edge of your seat.

I first watched it when it aired, so I followed the story from the start and became more and more addicted to it. Julian Fellowes is a genius, that much I can say. And if you’re not into this side of stories, then you’ll be in for a treat, he recently created The Gilded Age, which is about that period in New York, and it’s another favourite, there’s only one season so far, but it was pretty good.

Grantham family state

Now, back to Downton Abbey, which follows the life of the Earl of Grantham and his family, The Crawleys, as well as the people in service in their home. There are so many characters that it is difficult to pick and go from there, but mostly, you will see how the three daughters of the Earl live their lives, try to get the state to stay in their family and not go to some distant male inheritor, you know, your common problems back in the day when a lord had only daughters, and they couldn’t inherit.

But other than that, you will see some backstabbing, some loyalty, and how servants want to leave service and do another type of job. It’s all there, and you can easily follow each story.

I really liked this one, but I won’t start giving away the whole plot because of that. Instead here are the first 10 minutes, in case you haven’t heard about it before, or you haven’t decided on watching it yet.

I also share moments on my Pinterest in case you want to follow there.

That’s it for this Friday Flashback, I hope you enjoyed this one, and I’m thinking back on what I love to re-watch or re-read, so I can bring you new flashbacks.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely weekend! 🎆
