Alright, so here’s how we stand right now.
Songbirds and Snakes News
- June 2019, Joe Drake, Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, announced that the company was working with Collins on an adaptation of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
- April 2020, it was confirmed by Collins (the author) and Lionsgate that the film was happening, but Francis Lawrence was to return as director. With the scriptwriter being Michael Arndt, while Nina Jacobson and author Suzanne Collins would be the producers.
- April 2022, it was announced that the film will release on November 17, 2023.
In June 2022, a teaser trailer was released, and I’m sorry that I hadn’t shared it before, but I was a bit off from social media and blogging, and I hadn’t watched it, but here I am, ready to give you the scoop. You can watch the teaser next, which promises a movie that will be awesome!
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023) – Reveal
I cannot! It gave me a bit of chills just watching this, I remembered the whole book in an instant, and I don’t want to jinx it, but I think it’s going to be better than The Hunger Games, just a thought.
Recently, this week, there was a new announcement about the cast, so thanks to deadline, we get this one.
You can read the full news here: Here’s The First Round Of Tributes & Mentors.
Jerome Lance will play Marcus, the tribute from District 2. Ashley Liao will play Clemensia Dovecote, one of Coriolanus’s closest friends and mentor to a tribute from District 11. Knox Gibson will play Bobbin, tribute from District 8; Mackenzie Lansing will play Coral, tribute from District 4; while Aamer Husain will play Felix Ravinstill, the mentor to a tribute from District 11.
And that’s it for now, dearies! I hope you come back for more, don’t forget to read my review about this book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, though you might think I didn’t like it much, but I did. And also, there is the one for The Hunger Games, which is not as extensive, but I talked about the trilogy in one go.
Thanks for stopping by the blog.
Happy reading! 🐍
P.S: I’m going to ignore the casting perse, if they look like the characters in the books or not, I’ll let it go and will focus on the movie and the scenes, because I have no idea who these actors are, I mean some names I kind of know but no actual clue.
