The Only Cookbook I would consider buying: Stardew Valley

‘Welcome to Stardew Valley, where each season brings a new crop of bountiful food to make for friends and family. From farm staples like veggies, fruit, milk, and eggs to foraged mushrooms and berries to fresh fish, there’s always something delicious to put on the table.’

Hello, dearies! 📖🍴

Stardew Valley upcoming cookbook, official book and filled with all the recipes.  Is Darn cute and I want one.

Alas, I saw it recently and I can’t get it on Amazon because they don’t freaking ship to my country? What is this, the 1500? Oh wait, that has nothing to do with it, there has been methods of transportation since forever.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling. I will have to go look for it on Barnes and Noble or somewhere else, know of a good one? Let me know.

What is a Novel of Manners?

Ever wonder what Pride and Prejudice and The Portrait of a Lady had in common? Did you know they are Novel of Manners? They are! And this is what it all means! 📖

Hello, dear readers! 🫰

Welcome to a new bookish ramble! 📖

I know it might be obvious or it might be something you have never heard of, so here we are chatting about a book genre from yonder* times.

*Yonder is not really the right word there, that’s for a distance like “at some distance in the direction indicated”. End of lesson. 😄

So, I already know what a novel of manners is, but when I first posted my Pride and Prejudice review, I didn’t know the term. And now, I’m here to share it with you all, in case you were wondering about it, or just want to check some old books.

Flashback: Songs inspired by GOT and ASOIAF

Are we still waiting for new GOT books? Yes. So what to do while we wait? Let’s check out some tunes that were inspired by GOT and ASOIAF. It’s the least we can do.

Hi, dearies! 🎧

I suppose you have seen or rather heard some songs that remind you of Game of Thrones, and did you think, hey, was this song written or inspired by GOT? I sure did a couple of times.

This post will also act as a Friday Flashback because well, it is Game of Thrones we are talking about after all. And A Song of Ice and Fire, which is not over yet but let’s face it, we have been waiting forever to read the sequel to A Dance with Dragons.

Spoiler Time Sunday: Pride and Prejudice’s Lydia

Pride and Prejudice is a superb comedy of manners of Regency England, according to many readers. But did you know how Lydia really was in the book? Here’s how!

This will be a quick Spoiler Time Sunday.

Book/Movie: Pride and Prejudice

Author: Jane Austen

Book Character: Lydia Bennet (Youngest sister)

I was recently watching Pride and Prejudice (movie 2005) again for the thousandth time. And realised how little they explain how Lydia is, there’s a bit more to what she does and how she is. So here I am.

Did you know that in the book Mr Bennet actually asks Lizzie who did Lydia drive away (which suitor) by being all flirty.

No idea

Saying no to things in an active way?

How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

I have no idea if I do but I hope that unconsciously I am doing it because I do work towards it as I ought. A good attitude.

So, never giving up and pushing forwards must be those things that you can consider a “no” to the little things that interfere with your goals in life. 😊

It’s all about the way you see yourself and where you want to go in the future. It’s never too late to shift and focus. 🌙
