Friday Flashback: Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices)

“Let me give you a piece of advice. The handsome young fellow who’s trying to rescue you from a hideous fate is never wrong. Not even if he says the sky is purple and made of hedgehogs.”

Wow, that took me back, just thinking about it for a second.

Hello, dearies! 🩷

Did you know I am Shadowhunter fan? No? Really? You must know, surely.

Anywho… Clockwork Angel, another one from the Shadow World that I started reading, put down, picked it up again, thought about about what it was about, tried hard to get into what was happening in those first pages, and then when I got it a bit, I started reading full-steam ahead. It was like the world opened up and dropped me in London.

Too much?

I don’t care, I love Tessa, Jem, and Will’s story, it is epic, painful, funny, and worthy of having its own show or even animated series, anything, but that has not happened yet.

The Infernal Devices Trilogy, it’s different from The Mortal Instrumentals in some /many ways, and at the same time, it has that small thing of being similar to what Clary went through, but with Tessa, even though Tessa is a bit more badass than Clary, like honestly, she is. But it has that starting to get to know the Shadowhunters world, and everyone in it that we saw on TMI, it’s bad, I just never thought about it before.

If you are unfamiliar with anything that I just said, then you are in luck because I will give you the book description next.

Clockwork Angel – The Infernal Devices: Book Description:

In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them…

And it is very, everything is starting and what is this new world about, from Tessa’s perspective at least. But then when book 2 and 3 come to play, then you’ll cry for sure and hug the book all the way. It’s unbelievable.

I have not re-read this book, and my memory might be a little meshed, and by that I mean I have the Trilogy story in my head instead of book by book. And as a whole, it’s amazing.

And now that I am thinking about Clockwork Angel, I do want to re-read it. 😄

I just have a lot of books that I want to read right now, and I end up reading a page of each every day, it is a bit exhausting, but I am trying. I will try to relax more about my reading.

In any case, that’s it for this moment of flashback, I wanted to do a special one today and ended with a Shadowhunter Novel, of course! 💗

“Well, she’s not responding to my advances,” he observed more brightly than he felt, “so she must be dead.”

Thank you for reading, dearies! And don’t forget to like and share, if you are a Shadowhunter fan too, welcome or welcome back. 🥰
