Spoiler Time Sunday: Victoria’s Twilight

Who is Victoria in the Twilight Series? That can’t be a real question, but sometimes it is… so today, I’ll answer it.

Welcome, dearies! 👩‍🦰

This will also act as a Book Character special since the spoiler focus on Victoria from the Twilight Series, the red-haired vampire, who Rachelle Lefevre brought to live so perfectly. #sorrynotsorry but Bryce Dallas Howard couldn’t compete with the character as Rachelle had it.

Victoria was always the main enemy or was getting there after the events at the end of Twilight, but she was never all that friendly. That’s why you knew she would end up being trouble.

So, what about Victoria?

Victoria is a key antagonist in the Twilight series. She’s a vampire with fiery red hair and is known for her cunning, vengeful nature.

Victoria bursts onto the scene in Twilight as a fierce member of a nomadic vampire coven alongside James and Laurent. When her beloved mate, James, is ruthlessly slain (he had it coming) by Edward and the Cullens while pursuing Bella, a fire ignites within her. This heart-wrenching loss becomes the catalyst for Victoria’s relentless quest for vengeance, propelling her to seek Bella’s destruction in a desperate and fiery attempt to avenge James’ untimely demise.

What happens to Victoria?

After that, we end Twilight and this is not resolved, so she becomes a central villain in New Moon and Eclipse, where she creates an army of newborn vampires to attack the Cullens and Bella or more like get rid off the Cullens so she can get to Bella. Victoria is especially dangerous because of her agility and ability to elude capture, this is her ability, although it is not official-official. In Eclipse, her storyline comes to a conclusion when she’s finally defeated by Edward and Seth Clearwater, Leah’s brother and a werewolf, during a climactic battle in the snowy covered mountains away from the main battle with the new born vampires.

Is there a clear intro to Victoria?

Yes. Victoria is introduced as part of a nomadic vampire coven with James and Laurent. They arrive in Forks and soon want to participate in the baseball game with the Cullens where Bella is, and as they try to protect her so fiercely from James, then it all turns to chaos.

How does Victoria become the antagonist?

After James is slain (burnt), Victoria escapes the whole scene, and it ignites a fierce fire and starts planning her revenge since James was her mate, it is understandable. In any case, this is how she becomes the antagonist in the next novels, more so in Eclipse when she creates her little army of new born vampires, playing around Alice’s visions of the future.

So, yes, Victoria turned out to be the enemy for the next two books basically, although on New Moon it was more of an intro to werewolves since Edward left Bella so she could try and make it as a human, but she didn’t want that and well, he ended up coming back.

I didn’t realise until I wrote this post just how easy it was for the author to have Victoria as the enemy for two books straight in this way, but there it is and all coming from something as simple as introducing vampires in the first books that got obsessed with Bella for being a human and how Edward acted like a crazy person defending her instead of turning her into a vampire as Alice saw in her visions.
