My Happy Marriage Vol. 2 – Light Novel Review

I finished reading MHM vol. 2 on Aug 8th, 2024, but couldn’t make it here to you for a few days.

So, here’s my new light novel review: My Happy Marriage Vol. 2. For the first volume of MHM, check out the review here.

It took me some time to finish, considering the length of it…

Was that really a kiss at the end? What a plot twist to know who Hazuki’s ex was.

We only get snippets of the romance on this novel, but I still keep reading it. Alright, so after finishing vol. 2 this is where my thoughts went:

My Happy Marriage Vol. 2 Review

4 ★ for keeping my interest, for recapturing that interest. 💘

On her journey to be a worthy wife (in the future) Miyo Saimori starts taking lessons in etiquette with her sister-in-law and Kiyoka’s older sister. Hazuki, a lively woman, who is divorced but has a child, is ready to help Miyo, but Miyo, being the self-conscious, insecure, and a bit stubborn girl that she is, instead of learning normally…

She threw herself into her studies, that combined with her new gift slowly awakening (which meant nightmares) led to strained days and nights until one of her family members (lost relative) from her mother’s side came to pay a visit and suddenly everything was thrown into chaos as once more, communication or lack of it played a part and Kiyoka wanted to help her, but Miyo didn’t want to be a burden, so she didn’t tell him her troubling nightmares or thoughts, and with this, the new guy in her life (a cousin) swept on and she left her homely life with Kiyoka.

As every good drama, other factors affected the imminent rescue, so first, Kiyoka had to go and fence off Grotesqueries. But the shock was that the Emperor was behind it all.

But can we trust the next in line? The Prince? *whispering* I don’t.

It seems like this character is more likely to pull an awful surprise at some point that would not end up well for our main characters who are yet to kiss or marry. 👀 waiting forever.

But the Anime and Light novel are parting ways, vol. 3 should be far more entertaining and new to my eyes as the events from the Anime ended here or almost. I can’t wait to continue the story of My Happy Marriage.

That’s all from me, dearies! The growing pains of this relationship continued here, but a bit of good communication should have fixed it all. It’s no drama without it thought, lol.

I will continue to update you as I read the other volumes, I have up to the fourth one and might get the others on Kindle but it’s not decided yet.
