year of the dragon book list

It’s a New Year! โœจ๏ธ

Welcome, dearies! ๐Ÿฒ

This is the official first post of the year 2024. Since this the Year of The Dragon, and one of my favourite creatures (animals?) then I have decided to create a reading list of Books that have dragons or shifters ๐Ÿ˜ in them.

And as a challenge to myself (you can join in as well) I will do my best to read all of these books this 2024.

Let’s go and read! ๐Ÿ‰

Books related to Dragons

Drakon Series

I have already read these books, known them basically back and forward, but I had to mention them because I do not get tired of recommending this saga.

Game of Thrones

Hey, you knew this one was coming. Also, another I have read already but it’s dragons all the way on A Song of Ice and Fire Series, so of course it’s another one that I love.

Danny & Dragons

Alright, I’ll add some that I haven’t read now. And hopefully, I’ll read some of these this 2024.

His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik

This book is actually on my TBR shelf, I bought it a while back.

The first book in the “Temeraire” series is an alternate history novel set during the Napoleonic Wars, featuring dragon aerial corps.

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

In this fantasy novel, dragons and humans coexist in an uneasy peace, and the protagonist, Seraphina, becomes entangled in the politics surrounding them.

Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb

The first book in the “Rain Wild Chronicles” series follows the journey of a group of dragons and their keepers. ๐Ÿค” Interesting.

Dragon Bones by Patricia Briggs

This is the first book in the “Hurog Duology,” (I can’t even pronounce that). Here the protagonist uncovers secrets about his family, including their connection to dragons.

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede

This series includes four books: “Dealing with Dragons,” “Searching for Dragons,” “Calling on Dragons,” and “Talking to Dragons.” It follows the adventures of a princess who befriends dragons. ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ’™

Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson

The first book in the “Dragon Keeper” series is set in ancient China and tells the story of a slave girl who becomes the keeper of a dragon. Ohhh, now that could be more interesting.

The Last Dragonlord by Joanne Bertin

In a world where dragonlords can communicate with dragons, the protagonist faces challenges to protect the last known dragon egg. Huh, just thought of The Dragon Prince (The Mystery of Aaravos) for some reason.

Dragon Prince by Melanie Rawn

The first book in the “Dragon Prince” trilogy explores the politics and power struggles in a world where dragons bond with humans.

Hold on, I need more than that.

When Rohan became the new prince of the Desert, ruler of the kingdom granted to his family for as long as the Long Sands spewed fire, he took the crown with two goals in mind. First and foremost, he sought to bring permanent peace to his world of divided princedoms. And, in a land where dragon-slaying was a proof of manhood, Rohan was the sole champion of the dragons, fighting desperately to preserve the last remaining lords of the sky and with them a secret which might be the salvation of his people….

Okay, I think I can read that Dragon Prince one.

And those are the books on Dragons I might read, will read, want to read, this year.

If you’d like to embark on the journey across the skies with me, be my guest. It’ll be fun I’m sure. That’s all for this one, dearies! Hope you found a new book to read or if you have read some of these before, let me know in the comments, I love hearing from you, too.

Happy Reading! ๐Ÿฒ
