Hello, dearies! ๐ฑ
This is a difficult one! Why? Because we all have different tastes, and even more varies in Manga, I think. Don’t you?
But I’ll try to give a well-rounded view… lol, I’m not, this is completely biased and oriented towards what I like the most. So here we go.
As you might know, I like reading and my manga collection has been growing too, so these are some of the titles that I liked the most.
Namaikizakari
If you follow me on social media then you knew this one was coming, is my favourite Manga, it was one of those that made me start the collection.
Cheeky Brat or Namaikizari, or if you want the Japanese name: Japanese: ใชใพใใใใใใWhich translates literally to Full Bloom Cheekiness. Is a shลjo manga series by Mitsubachi Miyuki sensei. And it’s a fun, fast-paced, basketball, high school romance that you might find yourself completely in love with, as I did. It has been around for a while, but recently got published in English thanks to YenPress.
Maid-Sama
Despite the years, this is still a good one in my mind. I first watched the Anime, and re-watched it recently, after reading the Manga, years ago, and I can still recommend it. It has a bit of everything, and I actually learned a lot of cultural stuff from it, that was very interesting.
Styled as Maid Sama! (Or if you’d like to know the Japanese name for it, it is: ไผ้ทใฏใกใคใๆง!, in Hepburn: Kaichล wa Meido-sama!, and it translates lit to: “The Class President Is a Maid!”). This manga series was created by Hiro Fujiwara.
Sekaiichi Hatsukoi
Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi: Onodera Ritsu no Baai, or The World’s Greatest First Love: The Case of Ritsu Onodera (ไธ็ไธๅๆ ใๅฐ้ๅฏบๅพใฎๅ ดๅใ). Also known as Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi: The World’s Greatest First Love in the English anime). This Japanese BL Manga or Yaoi Manga if you’re old school like me, and say things by their original name, was written and illustrated by Shungiku Nakamura sensei.
Now, onto one of the best mangas out there if you like BL either reading it or watching it. Although, I loved the anime and the one for Junjo Romantica, when I first picked up the Manga, my eyes were opened, and I knew about all the censorship in the Anime. ๐ You’ll back me up if you have watched the Anime and read the Manga.
Well, if you love all of that, then this one is a must.
Horimiya
This is a recent, kind of recent, addition to my likes and recommendations but I cannot help it. The story is great, the characters are funny, and you just one more of the secondary characters and relantionships, is all there.
Originally known by its name Hori-san to Miyamura-kun (ๅ ใใใจๅฎฎๆใใ, lit. “Hori and Miyamura“), but later more commonly known by the Anime’s name Horimiya. This is originally a shลnen web manga series, but after the boom and the fame, it got a print publication, which I started to collect recently. First written and illustrated by Hiroki Adachi under the name Hero. And Daisuke Hagiwara under Hero’s supervision did the manga adaptation that gave birth to Horimiya (ใใชใใค). Little background story for you there, and the Anime is as great as the Manga, so you can watch, read, both, one after the other, you’ll equally enjoy it. I don’t get tired of it.
Lโค๏ธDK
L DK, stylized as LโฅDK, this is a shลjo manga by Ayu Watanabe. Though I haven’t finished this one, it’s pretty good and I liked what I have read so far, and I just discovered the English version, so I ordered it and will be reading from the start once more.
So many things to read, so little time.
Well, that’s all for this one, dearies! Hope you enjoyed it, don’t forget to share and like for my sake and yours. โค๏ธ
If you already read these five manga but want other suggestions, let me know in the comments or send me a quick message on social media.
Thank you for sticking to the end. And happy reading! ๐
