What Sunrise on the Reaping could be like

Hello, dearies! 🌄

As you know Sunrise on the Reaping, The Second Quarter Quell or the book about Haymitch Abernathy that we have been waiting for since we read The Hunger Games, will be released this month. But what could it be like? 🤔

Now, I have not read excerpts, many quotes, or nothing major about the book beyond the fact that it is about Haymitch, I mean when I saw the news last year that was all I needed to be convinced of reading this one. But can it live up to the hype?

I am trying very hard to stay positive about it, how off could it be? This is coming from the fact that when I read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake, I spent half the book either snorting, scowling, or rolling my eyes, and the other half of the time I was immersed in it.

But in the end, it was a book about justification of why Snow was like he was in The Hunger Games, or that was how some saw it, to me, the guy was off and not relatable from the beginning to the end. 🤷‍♀️

So, now? I think I am too hyped for Sunrise on The Reaping, and there is that bit of: what if it is not all that good? But again, how off can it be? We already know Haymitch, we already know what he went through, and how he won the games during the second quarter quell.

And this was not on the first book, but in Catching Fire, ch. 14. To my utter shock 😲 lol, I almost went and read the whole first book before remembering it was not there. But Peeta and Katniss asked for Haymitch’s tape of the 50th Hunger Games to see how he had done it and so we would know too. 😄

In any case, it’s all set up so we can have a good read now, and that is why we want (I do) more of it.

Now, hopefully, like really, honestly, I am expecting it with a mix of angst and excitement. I hadn’t pre ordered it until recently for that reason as well, but I have to read it, there is no doubt about that. On March 18 I’ll be there. ✌️
