I did read it last year and it seems I forgot to do the review 🙃 😅
Manga: Fruits Basket Another (フルーツバスケット another, Furūtsu Basuketto anazā)
Also abbreviated as フルバナ (or Furubana)
Genres: School Life, Fantasy, Shoujo, Drama, Comedy, Romance (?)
Author: Natsuki Takaya
This is sequel to Fruits Basket.
Hello, dearies! 🎒
I’ll dive right into this one, but please be warned that there are spoilers here if you have not read Fruits Basket (Manga) or watched the anime of the same name, which is also called Furuba.
Fruits Basket Another – Manga
It takes place in the future. About 20 – 25 years after Furuba finished.
We’re back in the same High School that Kyon, Tohru, Yuki and the other young Sohma’s attended in their days.
This manga follows Mitoma Sawa (三苫 彩葉) a teenage girl of 15-16 (?) who meets Tohru’s son and Yuki’s son (Hajime Sohma and Mutsuki Sohma), and slowly all of the children of everyone from the original story, because why not? That’s what we wanted to know anyway.
Kyon and Yuki’s children are close unlike their parents, but there’s a bit of a tension (Yaoi) element between them that I couldn’t shake off, read the manga if you don’t believe me. There were comments and things that made me squint and rethink.

But in any case, the manga is not particularly long, and it has interesting funny (at times) moments that keeps you into the story to the end, more so if you are a fan of Furuba.
However, the main character was not that endearing to me and everyone wants Shigure’s kid to end up with her.
For me, I found the side characters far more interesting to be honest. And as the curse is broken, there’s no particular supernatural/fantasy elements in this one. They just mention it and how their parents told them what happened before and their upbringing. That said, I still read it and liked it, and would love to watch an anime or OVA about it. It should be really interesting.

That’s for this one, I just wanted to share that there is a sequel and it is interesting, but it is more for those who really, really liked the original manga because it’ll make more sense while reading it.
Of course, I read all of these almost back to back, Fruits Basket and Fruits Basket Another, and after watching the anime too, so my view is not completely unbiased as I enjoyed all of them a lot. Again, we all have our tastes and if you like school life and cool manga, this one is definitely a must.
That’s all for this review, dearies! Hope you enjoyed, and if you haven’t read or watched Fruits Basket, it is all here on the blog, you can find the reviews on the page for Anime/Manga.
Thanks for staying and reading, don’t forget to like, share, and follow if you are not already. 📖🌠
Happy reading! 🐈
