Welcome to a new Spoiler Time Sunday, I had been trying to keep up with this one every week and I hope you are enjoying the little snippets of spoilers from different media, books, manga, movies. Mostly books, yes.
For today, I remembered one from Card Captor Sakura, the Manga, and the anime as well but I’ll focus on the Manga for the sake of accuracy.
Keep in mind, though it’s no excuse, that this manga was originally published from 1996 – 2000.
Just wanted to mention it, and I’ll dive right into it.
And in case you were wondering, Sakura’s dad was also a teacher and he married or was in love or whatever with Nadeshiko (Sakura’s Haha) when she was about sixteen. At least that’s a little older and they didn’t glass over it on the anime. Not like they did with Rika and Terada Sensei. Because they almost made it seem as if it were one-sided.
Well, not on the manga. And this is where the spoiler truly begin for this one. The relationship between Sasaki Rika-chan and Terada Yoshiyuki-sensei.
In the manga, there were various instances (chapters, parts) where they showed that he was not completely putting her off or regarding her ‘crush’ as just that. I cannot remember exactly when, but some time around the beginning of the manga, Terada does gift a ring to Rika and well with a promise of someday it might be something else, let’s say six years in the future for the sake of my sanity. But yes, they were together throughout the manga, and by that I mean they had a secret relationship that nobody knew about, even if ‘nothing’ was happening at least, not over the top that they would have to ban the manga or anything, I’m guessing here, I don’t know about other countries or actual facts.
Essentially it was a real thing, don’t get tricked and try to convince yourself they weren’t because Rika (10/11 at the time) and Sensei had something going on, it’s a fact.
