I should have known this would be coming. But I didn’t.
Hello, dearies! This is Sela! 😎
I haven’t started a post like that in… hold on, I don’t think I ever started one of my posts like that, but here we are. That is in case you didn’t know my name already.
Anyway, welcome to a new Friday Flashback, featuring one of my favourite TV shows of all time: Charmed.
The story of three sister witches, and then three half-sisters witches who fight evil because that’s apparently their destiny, but all they want is a normal life since that’s something that most witches and other supernatural have in common, while we the mortals, want nothing but the unconventional and magical life. 🪄
Possible spoilers ahead if you never watched it before…
Charmed
Introducing the Halliwell Sisters, Prue, Piper, and Phoebe, in that order of age, didn’t know they were witches during their adult life thanks to granny, so when their grandmother died, their bond and magical powers came to life and this unexpected or expectedly brought on all the dangers of the world, aka, demons, ghosts, poltergeist, white lighters (though they’re not evil, most of the time), and anything magical.
They had to basically learn on their own how to be witches, how to control their powers, and how to avoid being discovered by humans because the human world sucks, and people fear the magical and the unknown.
They are part of a prophecy that one day the Charmed line would have three powerful witches, and they would be able to move objects with their minds, freeze time, and see the future. That’s how their powers are distributed.
More Spoilers ahead
After some seasons, Prue meets her fate a bit off-screen, if you must know, and we are introduced to Paige, who has the same powers as Prue but is slightly different. Well, that only happens after she is reunited with her long-lost sisters, who knew nothing about her existence.
After that, around season 5 you start to see some improvement in the whole story, season 6 is my favourite I do not get tired of watching it. And then it went a little downhill until the ending in season 8, which wrapped up the story as best they could.
You can read normally again from here.
Please do not ask me about the new Charmed since I only watched a few episodes, and then that was it for me, I didn’t feel the need to continue, though I could have just for kicks.
So, the original Charmed with Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowan was the best, there’s no denying it, and I’m sorry for whoever doesn’t think that way, it freaking rocks.
Question, did you watch Charmed when it originally aired? I’m totally dating myself here, but I did, back when we had to wait for each episode to come out, and we were in front of the TV, well, maybe a few years behind, but I still watched it in the beginning. And then when I finally got internet at home, I watched it again.
That’s my piece for this Friday Flashback special I hope you enjoyed it and will come back for more, you can check out other flashbacks on the new page. Thank you for staying to the end, dearies!
Happy Watching! 🧙♀️
