Here we go…

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Hello, dearies! ๐Ÿ

I didn’t think my expectations were high, but they kind of were, I suppose.

Today, I watched The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. And you might remember what I thought of this prequel, and how it was not a 5-star for me.

I’m not going to talk about the acting, or the choices in casting. I gave up on that long ago.

But as a reader, I understood what was happening, but my sis went with me, and after the 10th Hunger Games, she had no idea what was happening ๐Ÿค” or where the transition was, it was confusing.

I had to explain what was going on with Coryo and that he didn’t turn psycho from one second to the next, that in the book we saw how he slowly (from the start) became, he was, President Snow and everything that entails.

Conclusion? This is not a movie for those who are not fans or haven’t read the books, which makes little sense. Because if you only watched The Hunger Games Trilogy, it would still not make sense to follow the story of Snow in this way, I feel they sort of focused on how THG evolved and became what they were by Katniss’ time, which is also the point of the sequel I suppose, but it’s not just that. It’s also about Snow losing and restoring the honour of his family, and whoever says otherwise, read a different Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

And Lucy, too, they portrayed her as more innocent than she was. But she was using Coryo to win the games, again I don’t know what book they based that on because I got another feeling of it. Even when I know that in the book, they did try to justify him for a lot of things. I still saw the same old Snow from the 75th games.

So, yeah, I’m not saying it was bad, they did great with cinematography, which was never a problem with these movies. And it was good to watch, but it was not 100%, sorry for them.

Now, when do we get to see Mags? Finnick? Haymitch? No? Those are the games we want to see for sure.

That’s all, dearies! Thank you for stopping by, if you saw the movie already or are planning to, let me know. I’d love to hear from you about it. And don’t forget you can check my review for the book in the podcast as well.

Happy Watching! ๐Ÿฟ๐ŸŽฅ
