Not what you would expect. Or what you wanted. 🫠
When you have a title that it’s Lock Every Door, you would think that there’s more suspense or paranormal. So, be warned ⚠️ it might not be what you thought and not in the ooh-such-a-good plot twist.
The main character is not all that reliable either, so I’m just keeping it real here.
Some spoilers ahead, so this is my warning.
And now for my thoughts as I read it… most of it.
- Don’t meet your heroes.
- Oh, please, Charlie, the suspicious door person.
- Maybe she’s a ghost (about Ingrid).
- My God, she’s so self-conscious, what do you care what people think?
- So, she was a spoiled, ungrateful one. It’s just fruit loops.
- Knew it, a handsome guy would appear.
- Zero self-esteem, it got on my nerves.
- Of all the things, she went to live in a dead woman’s apartment.
- Why? Why are you burning your hand?
- She continued to talk to a statue.
- In ch 12, obviously a ghost.
- And then the end… I rather read the serial killer or ghost in the apartment.
That was my thought process, but of course, I jumped from the middle of it to the end more or less because I stopped jotting down as I read. I lost the will, I’m sorry I did, but it was too let’s get this over with, that’s just how it is.
Read safely from here.
And then, when I finished Lock Every Door 🚪 I was left with a sense of okay, thanks for that. But it also went by quickly, so that’s a good thing about the book, serious, it could have been a drag one and then I probably would not have finished it. So, I was interested enough to get to the end of it, and I think that helped with the whole experience.
I don’t want to say anything too terrible because it was well-written. 😅📖 But it was not enough to make me say, hey, let’s read another book by this author. However, they might not all be the same, but if we were to judge by this one, then probably no more books by this author. For me.
That’s it, dearies. I will end it here before I descend to talking about all the things that could have been better about Lock Every Door, like that title only made me think that I actually needed to close the doors because something would happen, and the cover of the book? It makes you think that something it’s gonna jump at you.
Alright, I’m really done now, sorry about that final outburst, had to say it. Thank you for reading and staying to the end, it’s always nice to know that everyone is here for the fun of talking about books, or trying to figure out if you read a book or not, though, everyone has their tastes as I always say.
Hope you come back, and happy reading! 👻
