Hello, dearies! 👨🍼
I didn’t do a Mom’s in Books because I was a bit off that month. But here is a Father’s Day special because why not…
What’s the first book you recall reading and seeing a super dad in it?
I can’t remember, but James Potter comes to mind, as well as father figures like Sirius Black, and a father that couldn’t be one, Remus Lupin, man that took a turn into sad.
But anyways, those are memorable mentions. But so is Lord Asriel, even though he was not there always, he came back each year to be with Lyra. (Spoiler?)
It’s said, it cannot be unsaid.
Moving on, Mr Bennett, despite him being the kind to be home and prefer to be in the countryside, he did back Lizzy when she wouldn’t marry Mr Collins, kudos to him. Even though he had a favourite daughter which was Lizzy, but that’s another tale.
I have to mention Valentine Morgenstern because even when he was crazy, he still raised Jace in some weird way. He’s not the best, but he taught his children a lot, and gave them angel’s blood, how lovely. And demon one to another child, but let’s not dwell on that.
Speaking of Shadowhunters, the best dads are, you know it, Magnus and Alec, cannot compare. Unless you count Julian, who had to raise his siblings, spoiler? Sorry if it is.
Well, that’s it for this special, I hope you enjoyed the quick journey down memory lane.
Don’t forget to say Happy Father’s Day to that person who has been there for you, and don’t take your parents for granted, they’re worth a lot more than you might realise right now.
Happy Reading and Happy Day to all Fathers, fictional and real! 💞
